The hairstyle was available from the vendor again during the event this year - so with a bit of luck they'll continue that and you'll be able to buy it for some gil (...or was it MGP? Bought it over a year ago...) next year during the event.

i have the feeling that they will not put anything on the mog station wich was buyable with MGP before. the Gold Saucer is kind of a casino and paying real money in connection with gambling could lead to problems for SE o.ô;

It wouldn't be a problem to put the item on the Mog Station because there would be no gambling involved. Pay money, get item. That's a standard purchase transaction.

If it was pay real money, get MGP then gamble MGP hoping to maybe get the hairstyle, then it would be a problem.

I still wouldn't expect to see it on the Mog Station, though. The event items that end up on Mog Station are the ones that get replaced by new items the following year. Considering Rainmaker is named specifically for the event, it's probably going to keep coming back year after year as opposed to new hairstyles being added in its place.
