Tickets are all gone for fan fest

I went to the last two Fan Fests and thought SE would have a better ticket purchasing system by now... How wrong I was... I was in queue for 20 minutes only to be shown "All Fan Festival 2018 in Las Vegas tickets have sold out!". Why provided the Access Code if people can just buy them without it?

Then separate the North American fanfest - split it into on on the West coast and one on the East coast.

Was the last fanfest not well received? Why downgrade the size of the venue?

IIRC there were concerns around the huge lines that formed before the doors opened and the merch line blocking exits and fire safety. It wouldn't surprise me if the paris didn't want them back. I don't see why they went smaller though. Definitely need to go with a convention center in the future.

As someone who lives in Vegas I am completely baffled at their choice to go back to the Rio. If anything they should have upgraded from the Paris and we /do/ have a full sized convention center here as well. Why they aren't using that is just beyond me. I was hoping to get a chance to go, but seeing as my first free moment at work was to see they are all sold out guess that won't happen.

At previous fanfests, I felt that SE was leaving ALOT of money on the table. I'm used to going to cons with a bunch of cash and leaving with an empty wallet and possibly a maxed out credit card, but both these two cons I left with ALOT of money in my pocket because merchandise sold out at both.

Both venues SE only booked a portion of the space available for the cons. It could have been bigger. Instead the leftover space was rented out to a weddings and random parties not related to the con. And there was not enough merchandise brought, period, alot of stuff sold out and the lines were badly managed, the local fire marshal rightly had a fit. I couldn't understand why the Japanese and Europe fanfests had con exclusive merch that attendees could order online, but the Vegas one did not.
Heck, the USA FFXIV concerts attendees were able to by exclusive merch online, so why not fanfest?

I'm a Las Vegas local too, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why they keep choosing to book small convention venues with the way tickets sell out, considering all the convention space we have in this town.

I think SE reserved tickets for JP players and thus the NA tickets ran out faster.
