All I can say is 1.20 better be good. So far my server does nothing but become more of a ghost town every passing day. If this patch is less than "AWESOM" then the billing will scare away any remaining players we have. I personally am very pleased with the game (and the progress being made), however by the evident truth of my previous statement, all players obviously do not share my feeling. The thing that bothers me the most right now, about the game, is the fact that there are very few other players to play with. I have tried very hard to keep a linkshell going since January. I have recruited well over 100 members only to see them quit playing a short time later. Yes, player retention is my pet pieve right now, so I would like to see SE release something that will keep people interested in the game.
As pleased as I am with the game, if anyone has any negative remarks about my post, please keep in mind that we wouldn't be in this mess if SE would have done it right the first time around. It's not like this is their first MMO.

I have strange feeling that this "delay" with releasing 1.20 is done in purpose.
SE feeding us with some scraps of information about the patch that we are not complaining about their lack of. Meanwhile the days passing by and we end up with patch around christmas.
Maybe it's a calculated marketing trick so the ppl unsure whether to pay or not for the game don't have too much time to fully explore the 1.20 content and ending up paying for the game.
But if the 1.20 end up being average quality, we will loose them for good.

So they still intend to have a fee for retainers- Do we still get the two we have currently at no cost?
I have a feeling they would consolodate servers, but they don't want to give the outside impression that the game is 'dying' so they are holding off on doing it so that people joining at 2.0 don't end up wondering why there's so few servers.

Yoshida made a follow-up to his comments yesterday:
In today's meetings, we confirmed that patch 1.20 can be released on 12/14 pending balance adjustments to "Good King Moggle Mog XII Cometh!" We will continue to update The Lodestone and release Topics leading up to patch 1.20.
The only remaining task is making final adjustments to the battle balance for the moogle battle! (A video is planned to be released on Friday) Moogle personnel, the monster team, the battle team and the QA team are all working as hard as possible to make their final adjustments, so please hang on a bit longer.
