It probably just comes from life experience (they probably deal with software daily). The periods in version numbers are just there to separate the two (or more) numbers. Those two particular numbers stand for the number of major and minor version iterations and are completely separate unrelated entities. 1[Major].20[Minor] This means that in software versioning 1.100 follows 1.99.
That being said, please don't let this devolve into a versioning argument. We already had a thread about why 1.20 is not 1.2 and it got way out of hand.
On topic: I would much rather have an anticipated date and be told that it's been delayed than have no information at all, but personal preferences vary, of course.

I'd personally like to thank Yoshi P for allowing me to play Skyrim for 4 more days until the patch. The best gift SE has given me so far. 4 days of heaven before I have to play this game again.

Just as much white knighting as there are villagers who are quick to grab the torches and pitch forks. People keep going under the assumption that SE has no common sense, and believing that, you will come to any conclusion to make it look bad on their end, instead of thinking about the situation itself. Why would a video be delayed? For all we know, it might be a bug that could be simply crashing the game or making it unplayable, but not a terribly hard fix.I'm sorry, but as always your white knighting is just wrong from every point of view.
There's something called "editing" or even "post production", if you're doing a video and there's something you don't want to show you definitely can do it.
Also, mounting, exporting and uploading a video takes A LOT of time, by the time Yoshi announced the video they should have already been working on the recording, hence they should have known about the bug.
Also, the fight can't be that buggy 5 days before the release... if it's still planned for 14/12.
Also, if everytime they announce something it gets delayed something is just wrong, i'm actually wandering how will they manage to respect the long term schedule they set up for 2.0.
So, this is exactly the attitude of an "indie developer" except indie games are awesome.
Bugs don't appear right at the start of the fight. It can happen after hours during testing. I won't say I know the situation, but coming to conclusions like that is off-putting.

Uhm... basically what you quoted says it all.Just as much white knighting as there are villagers who are quick to grab the torches and pitch forks. Anyone experienced in video editing can confirm what I said, it doesn't matter what the bug was, by the time Yoshi announced the video they should have been working on the recording, wich if really contained a bug or an imprecision or whatever they could easilly cut/edit. Judging from the time they announced the delay you can tell they didn't even had the recorded footage. Jennestia said SE delayed the video because it's a high level company, I explained why delaying a video hours after the promised date is really amateur.
It could be understandable (the video delay) only if it was because of a serius bug that involves a massive redesign of the whole fight, but then it wouldn't be accaptable 5 days (3 working days) before the release.
