I live in Puerto Rico. And recently, I've been hating my ping. Whats this about VPN? I thought those were for getting into games with an IP block?Well, where abouts do you live? If you live in NA, either Aether or Primal will not offer much of a ping change, as I believe both data centers are located in the same place on the west coast. If you live in the EU, an EU server would be better for you ping-wise as opposed to an NA server. If you live in Japan or Oceania, Tonberry is the preferred server for the latter, and it’s also the only JP data center world that has a large English speaking community.
You also have the option of paying for a VPN if you would rather not relocate to another server, but want to decrease your latency/improve your connection.
Any NA server you choose will probably net you the same ping, since both Aether and Primal data centers are located in the same area.
VPN services such as Mudfish or WTFast can reroute your connection to the servers for a more stable connection; it’s not solely used to get around IP blocks. Just know that they also cost a monthly subscription to use. I think WTFast is like $9.99/month? I’m not sure, because I don’t use them.

Do they really work? I looked them up, and saw a read a bunch of hate on them.Any NA server you choose will probably net you the same ping, since both Aether and Primal data centers are located in the same area.

That would be something you would have to confirm. I have never used them, so I cannot speak on how well they work. I have known of people that have, however, and they have never complained about them to me. Doesn’t mean that they’re infalliable, but their usefulness is sadly something only you can evaluate. I do believe both offer free trials for you to try them out without having to pay at first.

They do work, but not everyone will see any benefits from them.
Using a VPN service can help in cases where the packets between you and the game servers are normally routed in some bad way. Then the VPN service can force the packets to travel along some better route.
If the network packets are already going the quickest available way between you and the game servers, then a VPN service would not help at all.
