After doing the latest dungeon and floating around in that cloud, I was thinking "Why can't we ride our mounts with our weapons in our hand?" I think that would be a cool addition for new poses.

The same "technical limitations" that prevent the ladies from sitting side saddled. It's in the game, they just wont allow it for everyone.
Or we can just make the PS4 limitations meme?
Why? What are you fighting there? Personally I'm happy to keep both hands on the reins of my flying horse.

It really depends on the weapon and on the mount. A dragoon with spear drawn riding on a horse could look majestic and badass, but an astrologian riding a giant egg with their star globe out would look ridiculous.
I wouldn't mind seeing it exclusive to a particular job designed specifically to do that, but yeah, there are too many cases where it'd just look stupid.
Why is it always an extreme? The OP asked to "let us" ride with our weapons out. Implying giving us the option, not enforcing it on everybody. I'd like the option too, personally: let me choose if I want to look like silly riding a giant egg with my astrologian weapon out (as if riding a giant egg wasn't already silly?).

What's extreme now? I assume it'd be a toggle or a /changepose if anything, so it'd be entirely optional. I'm just saying, some would look silly.
Also I'd love to have the option to pull out a chair mount and pull out my summoner tome, and just sit around reading while I wait for things.
I used your example to bounce off of since you were the only one who really provided examples of things that would look silly. I'm not disagreeing with you, it just feels like Brightamethyst's and Kazrah's responses were "It'd look silly/stupid, so no."
Which, to be fair to them, is me reading into what possibly isn't there.
