I would disagree with older content being made easier - it gets easier, yes, but not by actually altering the content.

In the events of actual nerfs, I'm usually not happy about it because I never felt that any of those nerfs removed something that couldnt have been handled with a little bit of brain-use. And I'm glad to see that encounters like Shinryu NM werent nerfed, despite people crying for it.

On the matter of content getting easier...
Thats mainly for three reasons, I'd say:
    (1) overgearing the content
    (2) Echo being added
    (3) You, yourself, being better at the game now than you were when you tried that content for the first time - each time I solo/dou Titan EX now, I remember how difficult dodging landslides used to be for me. Moving the servers to Europe probably helped my lag-issues aswell, but I also know I just got better.
Unsyching content is obviously making content easier aswell, but I dont really consider unsyched and syched content to be the same fight.
That leaves us mainly with (1) and (2) - gear and Echo. Both are choices you make for yourself - you can run content at minimum ilvl. You can click off Echo.
If you want to, you can do all those fights at a similar difficulty level than 4 years ago - and I think thats a great thing! Not only that you're able to do that content the "right way", but that you have the choice not to do that if you dont want to.
I dont care that my Ramuh pony used to be rare, because the fight sucked.
I dont care wether or not someone earned their T13-title by doing the regular fight or by unsyching the content - and I dont care wether or not someone knows that I killed T13 two weeks before HW-release, still synched but with Echo.

I care about having fun and a challenge in the game - and I can have that, if I choose to.
But I can also understand if someone doesnt want that, but would still like to see the Coil-story for example.
As long as that person doesnt demand that I give up my option of making a challenge out of that content, I wont deny them their choice of facerolling it.

I dont agree with the cries for nerfs - I'm totally okay with outgearing and unsyching content if the person wishes to do that. Specially as long as we all have the option to do it "properly".
(Luckly, the devs dont seem to agree with the cries for nerfs either - just a reminder again that very few content actually got nerfed. Right now I can only think off AK, Pharos, Final Steps of Faith and the removal of adds in T5, T9 and T13 - I'm not a 100% certain on those anymore though... I might also be missing minor nerfs and adjustments - bottomline is: most content never saw any heavy, altering nerfs.)

because things get "nerfed" or made eaiser so quickly, I do not care about spending time on something when it is hard. I simply craft or do my thing, and spend time on it later when it is eaiser. Why should I spend so much time on something when it is hard, when the only difference is a time sink? I got better things to do like take care of my daughter and other things then to worry about temp e-bragging rights.

Then the hard content isn't geared towards you.

The point of difficult content is to challenge yourself. If all you see it as is a time sink, clearly its not for you.

One can say the same thing about crafting tbh, its easier once it gets nerfed when gear/lvl increases. its definitely not limited to combat.

Personally, I don't really care if they nerf content later. Other than coil, you can ilvl sync stuff if you really want to experience it as was, they haven't nerfed things too bad post 3.0.

This is mindset I fit in as well. Normally it's gating something I want to do and that's the only reason it ever gets done. I also don't always view the scaling as 'nerf'. Just Scaling. Because of the content release system and Dungeon, then HM,then Savage, then ultra, uber, ermagerd hard on the same dungeon, they need to fall back on the original to keep the latter in check with real gear score potential.
There is also the other aspect of "hard" that I account for. It's a hardware check and usually I am going to fail. I wait because completing the said content is just frustrating with my GPU and I'm not pretending my "skill" has anything to do with it.
