For PLD it's Fast Blade -> Savage Blade -> Rage of Halone for the enmity combo (FB -> Riot Blade -> Royal Authority/Goring Blade are for DPS).

Basically throw your shield, flash, and use the above combo. Even in DPS stance, the mob you are attacking should not be pulled off of you. Without Shield Oath, however, it gets hard to hold onto multiple enemies later levels.

This might work on level 60 and 50 content, but it gets challenging in level 70 content. What I do on PLD, is pop Sheltron, Shield Lob, Circle of Scorn, Fast Blade, Shield Swipe, Savage Blade, Rage of Halone - Swap to Sword Oath, Fast Blade, Riot Blade, FoF, Goring Blade and go from there, with Shield Swipe/CoS on CD for extra emnity/DPS.

I understand what the PLD enmity combo is, a WAR would use the Butcher's Block combo to do the same thing but that isn't how I start most single target fights especially at 70. There is another way to establish and hold enmity (at least as a WAR) and what I'm suggesting is there is likely a similar method to accomplish the same thing as a PLD.

For PLD unfortunately there isn't. The best you can do is start with Bulwark/Sheltron on SwO and go: Shield lob - Fast Blade - Riot Blade - (FoF + Shield Swipe) - Goring Blade - (Scorn + Spirit). And then follow it up with a Halone Combo instead of Authority. If the dps use Diversion properly this should be enough. If not, throw in a Halone first in ShO and then start your normal dps rotation afterwards.

However, it was eye-opening for me to experience a disaster-run as a dps. I was hesitant to stop maining a WHM going into Stormblood, but I constantly blamed myself for everything that went wrong in a run. It wasn't healthy or fun for me. I look forward to healing again in the future after learning mechanics and how runs SHOULD go. Thanks to all the healers and tanks who show me how it's meant to be done! ^_^

Lately I keep getting Zurvan runs in trial roulette where tanks let his cleave attacks in the opening phase murder the party. Then they get salty when three or four people are eating the floor. No first timer bonus, just people not paying attention.

I pondered attaching a Thug Life sticker to that, but that was just hilarious.

Wound up in a Stone Vigil with a WHM sprout, a BRD sprout, and a DRK tank who thought he was all that. The BRD was getting hit with a lot of the circles, and we wiped twice because of the healer getting caught in the line AoEs that the dragon drops when he charges, and then the 2nd time, the healer died because they got nailed by a circle while hard-casting Raise.

I didn't have the heart to tell the poor healer that they should have Swiftcast and Esuna slotted, because the DRK was already giving the poor girl heat. And then he started going off on the BRD and saying about Sprint, and I thought I'd point out that not once in all three fights did I get hit with a single AoE, and I didn't use sprint at all.

lol.

Was hilarious.

EDIT: And the last part about "you all should try a different class" was hilarious because seriously, I was doing twice the BRD's damage, and despite me being a BLM, I still dodged pretty much every mechanic in the whole dungeon while everybody else (tank included) was getting hit with stuff.

Oh boy I had to come here immidently to post this story...
I just ran Ridorana with a few friends. We got to Construct 8 and did pretty well, until our black mage died. Apperently a RDM stacked on then and killed them. The BLM makes a joke about it in chat.
Apperently it wasn't a joke to the RDM, who immidently then went into Yzmiat doing nothing, refused raises from both healers and myself (an rdm), then when we finished the run they refused to roll on gear, pissing off the other alliances in the process. I never got out faster after a roll in my life.

Tanked Raba yesterday for the coin to upgrade stuff. Found out during Hashbrowns that one of our healers had a three line raise macro. Now, raise macros are fine and dandy because I get it alerts the other healer you've got that person already. What isn't fine is making it super spammy like that person did.

So, when we got to the bit where we split up at the waterway the other healer merely said "So about that raise macro..." which caused the spammy macro healer and their boyfriend/girlfriend who was in the group with them to flip out. Spammy macro healer then questioned why they should change their raise macro and I said "Because it's annoying." Cue chat being filled with ^ from the other group members over what I said.

You'd think that would be the end of it, right? NOPE! They changed their macro to "F--- you and your whininess [Player Name]" and spammed it on the healer that called them out for their macro (and amusingly not on me even though I said it was annoying). Group stood behind and reported them even though both they and their SO called us idiots and said we couldn't report them for bad language.

I have personally only run ZurvanHM once for the relic lap. I think that's pretty standard for most HM stuff. I would likely derp the mechanics too. Just saying.

So I had a run of Drowned City of Skalla just now with a pair of elitist circle jerks from my own server, a Drg and Brd combo with the i375 Ultimate weapons.

- It's entirely possible that I missed it, but I didn't see them use any emnity reduction, so my Pld had to stay in Shield Oath far longer than I would have liked, doing the aggro combo more times than should have been necessary.

- One of them, I'm unsure which, pulled the last group before the second group, while the other went ham enough on another mob to make me have to re-acquire top aggro on it (while still pulling the second half of what I usually pull); and the Ast couldn't keep me up when I went to grab that third group. I even popped Hallowed, but it went off right as I died (because lol that delay). Then the Drg and Brd had the audacity to bitch at me for not handling the pull that THEY wanted. That's nice, but I'm the tank, and you're dime-a-dozen dps, so go pester someone else with your e-peens that might actually want to see them.

- Actually, one of them going nuts on one mob at the start of a pull while I'm heading to the rest of the mobs that I include was a constant the whole way.

I'd have loved to kick one of those dps, but I didn't know the healer, and they didn't say anything, so I couldn't gauge how successful that kick would have been. Seriously, though, just because you're good enough to get those fancy weapons doesn't mean it's time to show off when some of us just want to chill while we do mindless dungeon content. Wait, good enough? Oh right, they got hit with vulnerability at least once each during the last boss (whereas I did not). So... *shrugs*

You know, those people who pay real money to Win Sellers to take control over their character and clear Ultimate for them?
All so they can have the bragging rights off having cleared Ultimate so they can wave their e-peen at people while actually being terrible players...
