Of Payments and Forums

Idk; could be a few things

1) They know soon enough they will no longer have a voice or place to troll here due to payment so they're getting in their last few blows before they are cut off

2) Some people who have stood by SE are becoming distraught at the pace and direction the game is taking and due to payments, are really starting to let loose their tongues because they were "willing" at one time to let people talk, assuming SE would never do the ridiculous things they (the "other MMO" crowd) wanted in XIV but yet, somehow, SE is putting that crap in anyway and it's ruining the game. This in turn almost forces the hand of die hard FF MMO players into, "Do I stay and HOPE to the gods SE stops doing this stupid crap and actually works on what is wrong with this game while giving us something to play as well and I pay" OR Troll troll troll bitch whine complain QQ scream cuss QQ some more; actually make 1 valid point, troll troll etcetera.

3) The player(s) are bored. Personally, it use to be fun coming in here and reading the obligatory QQ post and comment or read an actual valid post. Now, it's more like the ones who had actual good ideas for this game have gone, for whatever reason that may be and all that is the majority and left here to post are the ones who imho, wanted nothing but things that really didn't matter in the game and easy mode like, "every other MMO". <--- This right here is why I think there is so much bickering. These are the people who don't know how to deal with another human being in a mature way when discussing an issue and because this seems to be the majority in the gaming world as younger and younger people have access to it, this is how the majority of forums and games will be. /sigh

So, we all know that payments are resuming in January. Curiously, I've noticed that over the course of the past week or two the general tone on these forums has been extremely harsh. Extreme amounts of back and forth bickering, frequent player attacks, a low tide of respect for other people's opinions, and so on.

Is it because payments are resuming and many players will be losing forum access that this is happening? And will the return of subscription payments mean a nicer, friendlier forum atmosphere for all who are staying? I can only hope so.

Am I the only person who thinks that the resumption (is that a word?) of the subscription service can only mean good things for the health of these forums?

Some people are apparently very bored and haven't yet figured out how to vote with their wallets...

The forums have been a haven of fail for awhile, and the game actually has some things to do now (though needs more long-term goals for players to work towards... aside from le "achievements"). If a few trolls are lost in the proces, they will be missed.
