Some people are apparently very bored and haven't yet figured out how to vote with their wallets...
The forums have been a haven of fail for awhile, and the game actually has some things to do now (though needs more long-term goals for players to work towards... aside from le "achievements"). If a few trolls are lost in the proces, they will be missed.
When SE gets the payment options right some people will shut up, or will that get sorted in 2.0![]()

I will be paying for the game, but I've been terse with people and had a general disregard for their opinions because that's the way I am as a person in general. I do the same thing in class, people say stupid things, irl, online, its not acceptable how anti-intellectual we've all become. I actually think a lot of the people who are terse and in some peoples opinions "flame others" are actually here to stay.

I had to actually look up that word, 'terse'. lol Learned a new vocab word today. Thanks! Last two weeks? I've been people acting like this since the forum came into existence, I don't really see it as a new thing that just happened over the last few weeks. People have always been rude, bickering and attacking others on these forums. I always remember the #1 reason in the '5 Scientific Reasons People Act Like A--holes on the Internet". -____-;So, we all know that payments are resuming in January. Curiously, I've noticed that over the course of the past week or two the general tone on these forums has been extremely harsh. Extreme amounts of back and forth bickering, frequent player attacks, a low tide of respect for other people's opinions, and so on.
Happens on every forum unfortunately.... welcome to the internet. /sighBehavioral scientists have a keen interest in the increasing trend of so-called "webrage": the tendency for Internet commenters to spew naught but filth and bile with little to no provocation (for some handy examples, just scroll all the way down to the comments section!) But aside from vitriol-laden feedback sections wrought with verbal filth and textual disease, the scientists are also pointing to the rise of new websites, like mybiggestcomplaint.com and justrage.com, which are dedicated exclusively to the world's saddest expression of rage: Angry typing. These sites don't even pretend to have content, they're exclusively devoted to venting nerd fury for no valid reason. Although that does finally answer the age old Zen Riddle: If there were no Internet to flame on, would flamers still flame?
These researchers all differ on what, exactly, is causing this outpouring of impotent rage--some point to the anonymity of the Internet providing a consequence-free environment for a--holery, while others blame the anger on a lack of emotional cues like voice fluctuation and body language--but all can agree on one thing:
The newfound ability to distance ourselves emotionally, while simultaneously remaining connected on a global level is leading to an overall increase in both anger and stress levels across the board. So, while the Internet may have linked humanity via information, and possibly ushered in a new era of human intelligence, it's also allowed us just enough distance to constantly tell each other to go f ourselves unconscious for no apparent reason with a previously unheard of lack of empathy and remorse.
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.

When people feel that they have nothing to lose, they tend to be more vocal.

^ thisi got a ban for a 3days just for making a thread for my 1000's post when it hit.... lmao. they seriously are retarded when it comes to what they removed and who they banned or punished. but yeah it wasn't a usefull thread at all, but people being able to threaten people is lol, and they chose when and how curse words get removed depending on who says it and if it positive or not.
I would have thought everyone that played FFXI learned back then, SE and their support staff don't care about you. They deal with problems in backwards ways. And they don't care if you like the game or not, they want their money, and they will make money riding on the Final Fantasy name brand.
In XI all the bots were allowed to do w/e they wanted and not get in trouble, banned, or even warnings.
In XI RMTs were rampant, everyone knew who the RMTs were, SE did not care.
In XI if you report a botter, you get the typical automated response "we will investigate this matter further", and if you sent in the report multiple times you were the one that got suspended. LOL@SE
Now then...flame me trolls...flame me....
This forum is actually one of the more civil forums I've ever seen. You guys don't even have any good trolls. The problem here is that every single thread turns into a myopic shitstorm. The guy who says he doesn't agree with something is immediately labeled a dissenter and a troll. The guy who defends the game is labeled a fanboy. Eventually it turns into a, "My opinion is right because it is" thread.
I hope people like that don't have a job that requires communication because they suck at it.
