To punish him for it as a ToS violation, they'd probably also have to know that it was done deliberately.

They don't really need to punish them, but rather suggest they open the house up and allow OP to demolish their room so they can freely leave the FC. Granted the GM's would have to keep an eye on {Player} for X amount of days until they log in (unless they can move logged out characters into the Gaol).

That said, Johnmark said in the OP that the new leader kicked every other member out of the FC, except for him. Even if you have a Private Room in the house, you can still be kicked by the leader (unless this has changed). Heck, the other three members in the FC, two of which are only level 1 and 3, are at a higher rank than Johnmark.

SE owns all the data, they don't need permission to alter anything and thus shouldn't need to wait for the fc leader to log in and open it up. They can open it up and let him check to see if the room shows or not. If it doesn't, he'll have to wait for someone to either relink his character with the room, or clear out the connection so he can move on. Over a week is beyond pushing it, especially with no communication on SE's end of any progress.

Starting to wonder if it was intentional to leave John in the FC or if the bug prevented the leader from kicking him with everyone else and the lockdown is this person's way of avoiding confrontation from booting everyone out to make the house their own personal fc?

So ultimately, I contacted a GM, gave them the run down of the situation, and we found that the only solution was for the GM to forcibly demolish the room with all of the furnishings inside. Luckily, I never spent any real money on the items that furnished the room, but there was quite a bit of gil invested in those furnishings.

So it sounds like GMs can ultimately force demolish a room but in the case of OP, his room is bugged. On top of a design flaw (needing to demolish a room to leave an FC), he has a bugged room that the GMs can't touch.

I would think that but the deliberate rank names of those in the FC and the OP sorta... make me think otherwise.
