Currency prices change all the time, I'm showing the actual currency exchange rate right now to be 6.99 EUR = 9.35555 USD.
Here is my question though to the EU community. Do you guys convert your currency to USD and then buy stuff from retailers, or do you just pay the Euro price and not worry about USD?
Yes it sucks that SE does the 1:1 billing but I recall XI being the same way, and back then the $ was stronger then the €, so EU players got a much better deal. I'd like to assume most of you also played XI, but regardless I don't understand why everyone is trying to convert € to $ and saying that's not fair.
You don't buy a pack of cigarettes or food or gas at the $ current value.

How funny SE well let's see how much money you make with this currency scam before you realize we're not all total retards when it comes to currency conversions. Jesus first Steam then PS Vita bs and now this. Maybe most gamers are idiots and don't even know they're being ripped off.
BTW WE HAVE THE BIGGEST LAG HERE!!! How the hell is it that we pay the most as well? What kind of a screwed up logic is that?!
They dont pay 6.99 EUR techno, they pay 9.99 EUR. and thats with the discount. Otherwise is 12.99 EUR
edit: from my previous post on the same subject
9.99 EUR = 13.3697 USD
No, but we aren't all buying the exact same product from the exact same provider at the exact same time for their privatised billing page when we buy gas/food/cigs.
There are no there are no customs fees, or transport fees or anything like that at work here. they have simply chosen to bill different currencies different prices.

To some Free to Play game with a cash shop, the same as here is applied, meaning for example XXX points for 50$ or the same XXX points for 50euros. I personally was 'tricking' and was going to the US website to buy the XXX points to pay in dollars.
I don't really know how it is going to work here but I will also try to buy crystas with dollars and not euros.

Amen brother can't believe why anybody at all would ever defend SE for this move.
Because everything else sold in the US that's sold in the EU or UK is converted first then priced.
BTW, wasn't there something about directly buying crysta with CC? I can't finds it anywhere can someone hooks me up? Right now I have the option of 'clickandgetpwn' and crysta, but within crysta I need to use another service to buy -_-'
Your not getting a discounted fee until 2.0? Because on our lodestone page it says:

Screenshot of our lodestone page. I find it funny that SE offers NA players the pre-2.0 discount but not EU?

We get additional payment options at December 16th.
Wait and see.
@Technolust:
We do get a discount, but 9,99€ is the already discounted price!
Without the discount, we would be paying even more, the 12,99€ Junpei stated.

Im really going to explain this now because this the 3rd post of my repeating myself.
Look at the EU prices here. Again.
EU do get a discount
from 12.99 EUR to 9.99EUR
Are you purposefully ignoring what im writing!?
12.99 EUR = 17.3945 USD Version 2.0 price
9.99 EUR = 13.3773 USD Current Discount.
So why is the current EU discount Higher than the NA full price?
(EDIT:: FYI that $6.99 is the service, and does not include your character slot, it is $9.99 with discount for a 1 character amount
quote from lodestone
* One character save slot as well as a basic service fee is required to play FINAL FANTASY XIV.
* The price for one character save slot is $3.00. An additional $3.00 charge will apply for every additional character save slot.
)
I hope this has clarified for you that yes, EU are getting boned, UK are getting fingered, and NA are paying the least.
