You're not wrong. It'll very likely be unique boss FATEs that drop specific tokens, and we need either a certain number of them (likely) to complete everything and leave the zone again, or a certain number of certain kinds (depending on monster) of tokens each day for about a week or two to get what we need or want from this.

Oh, and the end of the trailer hints at food consumption, so we'll get a unique kind of food that is all novelty and no real use unless you need that 3% exp boost in dungeons.

This is to say nothing of the trial(s) we may or may not be getting.

Speak for yourself, personally I have zero interest in FFXV and love Monster Hunter, so I'm really excited about this.

I do hope it's not just FATEs again though - especially since they're encouraging people to buy the game and level boosts for it! Imagine paying all that just to do some boring FATEs...

If the trailer is anything to go by, I think it's safe to say it's a Trial. 8 players, location is only found in a dungeon (Bardam's Mettle first boss arena I believe), boss cutscene fade-away...

We're obviously far past the point of no return with XIV, but I do hope if SE ever makes another MMO, they make a realm that actually builds upon its own world, doesn't borrow heavily from its predecessor, and doesn't have these cross-over events that make absolutely no sense.

I mean, I get it. XIV is just pure fan service at this time, but it all feels so cheap.

Sure, the crossover events and 24 man raids are fan service, but the main story quests are completely original. I don't know where you're getting the idea that it doesn't build on its own world.

but they also have good looking gear

they wasted there time bringing this event if they are only gonna give out small rewards like DQ ,making it Yokai watch amount of content would be great

I hope the Rathalos doesn't have an enmity table for a more authentic experience.

This would actually be an immensely fun new (well, apart from a tiny handful of encounters) twist compared to the trials we have already. I hope for an extreme version as well, though I know it's probably too much to expect.

Aesthetic is subjective, take a breather. For everyone one person that finds something ugly I am sure you can find one person that likes it. I cannot wait to see the bow they release for bard with this colab.
