[Request] Can we have more race-specific hairstyles?

No, because race-lock hairstyles of all things to emphasise lore & and tailor-made (no, I do not consider the bun style "tailor-made," they were just meatballs slapped on) really don't hurt anyone. I really don't see why it should. It's not as though they'll give a general look that everyone wants to one specific race. For instance, one of the Au Ra femme cuts has extra little horns. While yes, it is a nice cut, it wouldn't make sense for any other race to have it culturally or even visually. Thereare dozens of neutral hairstyles and only a handful of race specific hairstyles per race/gender. With the fact they'll continue to make neutral hairstyles, it really shouldn't hurt anyone to have a few more race locked styles. I don't even understand why allowing those who want just a few more is such a big deal.

I can't say I agree with racially-locked hairstyles. There are several Hyur/Au Ra hairstyles I would love to see on Miqo'te. I understand wanting to Miqo'te ears to not look pasted on atop the head, but I don't like the idea of locking more hairstyles behind a specific race. I'd rather have them all open for more options and variety amongst all races. Inevitably, there will be the one or two races that get favored more for personalized hairstyles, and the rest will be ignored/get less amazing versions.

If I may, some of the racially locked hairstyles could not be particularly considered part of the race's lore. For example, I understand the Au Ra styles with the horns, but what about the Hime haircut they have? What about the ponytail hairstyles specific to Highlander's and Midlanders? I don't see how those are "lore appropriate". Why can't Miqo'te have a Hime cut, or a ponytail with curling strands, or side fringes? Some of the racially locked hairstyles do not seem to have any justification lore-wise to them.

How would you propose making lore-wise hairstyles for races other than Au Ra? I can't think of any that would truly define Elezen, or truly define Miqo'te or Roegadyn or Lalafell.

I play multiple characters of multiple races, not just Miqo'te. While I can't speak for everyone, when I ask for each race to get more race-specific/lore-specific hairstyles, I mean all. I understand the frustration of things being "locked" to something else (especially gender lock); however, this request really shouldn't be considered as detrimental to one's gameplay or image. Yeah, there are a few styles from other races I'd like to see on my Miqo'te or my Roe or my Au Ra, etc, but... at the end of the day, I think the presence of culture is pretty cool and worth the "sacrifice."

It honestly depends on each of the races and where they might originate for the most part. Research of like-cultures & biomes (and maybe even era) would be very beneficial to inspire styles.
This also isn't to say that some styles may not be similar to each other, fyi. Some may be similar, I think.

Race specific hair - Sure.
Race specific gear - As long as it isn’t underwear.. Sure.
As long as the hairstyles my race gets look nice I won’t mind it.

They're already adding new hairstyles all the time (they've added something like 30+ since sometime after 2.0's (I don't remember specifically when)) and will continue to do so anyway so it doesn't hurt them (or you) to add a few more race-specific styles. Miqo'te males have like... 4-6 (maybe) race-specific hair styles, Au Ra males have about 8, I think, Hyur have a crap ton so they probably don't need any more anyway... Meanwhile, we have about 40-50+ neutral hairstyles (and this number will only continue to grow). Excluding au ra, they haven't touched race-specific styles in years either. An update is long overdue.

Aside from the "covet thy neighbours" argument, why shouldn't they add just a few more race-specific styles if they're going to continue making neutral/general styles anyway? Heck, it might even benefit you.

(P.S. It's a request, not a demand, meaning I don't expect them to actually go ahead with this... but I would appreciate it if they did consider my request. I imagine that those who support this idea would also appreciate being taken into consideration.)

I would not be - provided all races and genders got equal treatment and each locked style didn't end up only for the waifu races SE dotes on with most everything else in the game.

Also would not be against this provided SE continued to give the original 4 (or at least 2) un-race locked hairstyles we have up to this point been receiving.
