All Greed on Alliance loot

The need side did win due to town outcries, their cries were heard the loudest. Not saying that it is a bad thing, but let us not pretend that either side was not crying over the change and defending their preferred loot system tooth and nail.

No, this is more of a classic case of pot calling the kettle black, and that's what I responded to.

Calling the (majority) people who wanted Need back "town criers" is rich, given that you could say the same thing about the people calling for it's removal in the first place (which they also received, temporarily).

I do not see how their comment was attack against you, and yeah the comment did have a hint of salt. Wasn't the need side salty after the greed all change, so what irony are you pointing out? More or less same situation those that wanted the need change back but in reverse. Also I do not think many requested for the old look system to be changed or made an out cry for such a change, however the need side did go above and beyond to have their voices heard. So while I will agree both sides have an element of hypocrisy those in favor of need did make a lager fuss over. So their comment was not wrong, and I do not think it was an attack more so an observation.

It was an obvious jab at people against the change. And a "hint of salt" is putting it mildly.

W-w-w-wait. Where's the "pro-Need/original loot rules" hypocrisy? The first stone/insult cast in this situation was against those wanting the loot rules changed back. When people had to ask for a change to the loot rules, they don't get to act holier than thou when there's an overwhelming number asking for it to be changed back.

Of course there was a larger fuss, because there was waaay more players against it. So naturally we are seeing what follows. They're "criers" for outnumbering them. Shame. On. Them.

I really don't remember reading any of this consensus. At least not in here on the OF or Reddit, since its easy and quicker to run Sohm Al unsync and get every item in 10 minutes.

Every old thread I've read regarding cases of "they rolled for this item they can't even use" boiled down to "if they can roll for it, they have every right to the item." It doesn't even have to be a glams vs seals issue. Desynth is also an option. Maybe I need it to gear a new retainer.

Point is, I've heard everywhere that "if you wanted the item so bad, you should run as that role for the Need." (or, y'know, speak up and ask. But who does that?)

This is what does not make sense I do not recall many people asking for such a change (having the loot system changed to greed), prior to the change discussion on this topic seemed fairly rare. Most people that were in favor of the need system were defending it, but also did not care either way. Maybe I just have a different view as to what a personal attack is, but town outcries wins does not seem like a personal attack, or a jab as you put it. It is cool that you made an observation, but you lanced that observation with the view that the comment was meant as a personal attack. As you said more people were against the change, so yeah the need side was a town outcry. It is cool they reverted the change, just seems like some people want to view those that were in favor of greed all as unreasonable.

After careful consideration, we have decided to revert those changes and bring back the Need option. This will take effect from the next hotfix and includes all alliance raids.

Glad we can put this vitriol behind us. I was a fan of the greed system but clearly many were not. SE hope you learn something from this, and monitor feedback before a change goes live. This could have been avoided if they simply listened to the feedback when the change was announced instead of taking a wait and see approach.
