Viera as the next new race~ Show your support

Unique is relative. Its perfectly possible to make a race that has a completely different feel and aesthetic from the other available races without making it a beastman race outright.
Secondly, theres a huge grey area between just a 'human with animal ears' and 'beastman', maybe instead of making snarky comments at each other we should try to find a compromise between the two

All though the "making a series of posts and tantrum" well that's not entirely right. I don't care about negative nancies or any of that. You try reading over 203 pages worth of posts and not go on your own post making spree. I have a lot of things to say and if I post a TL;DR nobody will read it.

Though i could have use bold or itallic fonts instead of capitalizing, the purpose of that was to destinguish certain words from the TL;DR i typed. No tantrum was there if that is how it was being read than I will have to work on explaining myself better next time.

Also, there are certain other issues, a bit minor but still present. Is that when Viera are added into the game.

Will we be getting 2 to at least 4 of Long Hairstyle Viera presets?

As well as the collision it may have when it comes to clipping when wearing things such as cloathing with collars?

And if we get these "unique" viera only hairstyles. How will the community act when Viera are the only race who has long hairstyles?

Hopefully they don't "attack" the devs like they did when then made those flames for one of the Bonewicca Gear Sets. Honestly!

There are still other problems that may occur if Vieras are added that we don't seem to be talking about...

Secondly, theres a huge grey area between just a 'human with animal ears' and 'beastman', maybe instead of making snarky comments at each other we should try to find a compromise between the two, something thats 'different' enough to not just be human with animal bits, but also human enough to not cause an issue in the games storyline. And yes, Viera can be that, they are already less human than some of the other races we have.

And @ Trixie_Strider, I get that it can get frustrating to read the same negative nancy comment all the time, but making a series of post that read a bit like a kid throwing a tantrum because the meanies disagree with you isn't helping either.

To be fair, when they made the Au Ra it was also their first time making a new race from scratch. I'd like to believe they've learned since then.
I'm not going to delude myself into thinking they'll pull a giant rabbit out of the hat, but at the very least, the sub races should be more than mere color swaps of each other, because as they are now, subraces add more retrictions than they add variety.

Also worth noting the most obvious thing out there.
Mostly human-shaped is 100% guaranteed because the gear needs to fit them.

They aren't going to make something like seeq or nu mou ever simply because remodeling every piece of gear in the entire game to work with a drastically different body shape simply isn't going to happen.

Even the effort to just make helmets fit viera ears would be a pretty massive task

the way WoW does it with trolls and worgen and whatnot is all the gear is super simplistic and bulky and limited in design.
I remember progressing through raid tiers in wow like...
Oh look gloves with massive flared wristguard just like all the ones i had leveling but a fancy pattern
oh look the same gloves as the first raid but even fancier pattern
oh look same gloves but they reskinned it to look like scales
oh look same gloves again but now they have green glowy spots

Those problems are relatively minor, tbh. I highly doubt SE is gonna jump through burning hoops to make Viera hair work in any unique way. If anything they'd use Tricks to make longer hair work, like putting it in ponytails and keeping it away from the body. I doubt they're going to worry much about collar clipping, they're not doing now, so why start then? Just a typical case of 'if it clips, don't wear it!'
(As much as I hate that logic; I hardly like playing my Miqo anymore because the Tail keeps clipping awkwardly through gear I wanna wear)
People will 'attack' the Devs anyway, nothings gonna change that; we'll just have to make sure that between all the complaints there will also be voices of reason.
Also I think that, should SE decide to ever add long hair, there will at least be one or two styles for all races.

Pretty much this; though I don't think the helmets will be as much of a problem.
Circlets, hairclips, crowns and such won't cause any problems; and most helmets and hats can relatively easy be adjusted based on Miqo'te ears. As Viera ears usually 'poke through' headgear you can reasonably just let it clip for most other gearpieces and it should look fine-ish (not perfect, but passable). There are only a few pieces of headgear that would really have to be adjusted to make sense with bunnyears.
I'm more worried about glasses, of all things. I mean, it's a game, and I expect a certain amount of 'floatiness' when it comes to gear, but if Male Miqo'te glasses are any indication I'm already in tears when it comes to Viera in Glasses. (Little tangetial, though somwhat relevant: they didn't even try when it comes to male Miqo'te and glasses. They legitimately float in completely unrealistic positions. The lack of (human) ears to hold the arms can be handwaved, but most glasses don't even so much as attempt to touch the nose. Other races may have similar problems when it comes to glasses, but male Miqo'te are definitely the most jarring; which makes me fear of what'll happen if Viera are introduced)

I wasn't actually refering to you actually, but your post did play a role. However, I really wasn't refering to you. This was a generalization. It is only expected when something unique happens it is only natural others want it for other purposes that sway from it's original purpose for creation.

In this case, if Viera get long hair, no doubt the community will scream "Give Hyur, Miqo'te, Lala, etc. Long hair too, why only Viera?"

I don't think it will be part of the main story quests, so perhaps view it as an extra project the WoL took on the side? It is pretty involved, though, so I found it to be curious as well.

Despite all my talk on Viera and what not, I'm actually still in the process of beating Post-Heavensward so I don't really know much of anything stormblood related

Are you telling me that Return to Ivalice, whatever that may be, isn't added to the game yet. gee im getting a bit confused..

Anywhooo, is their a trailer or somehing I can watch though? People seem to know much about it that I don't.
