WTF kind of blasphemy is this?? I am Super Bee Brian. I am the embodiment of perfection!Ideally, yeah, one should sit down and talk things out. However, in the heat of the moment, after some angry keyboard mashing, the "Leave FC" button becomes the final "F YOU!" weapon in someone's arsenal. Especially if they were arguing with the FC Leader at the time.
Now, maybe at some point later, they might cool off.
EDIT:
I didn't mean to suggest you're a bad person or anything, I'm just saying that the fact multiple people have done this to you/your FC suggests that there could be some kind of common factor: you, the FC, etc. Who knows.
(Not serious)
Can't you just ask them why they left?
People leave the FC I'm in all the time - among the various reasons are:
1. A friend is in another FC
2. A different FC is more active for their time zone
3. We weren't active enough (we're actually super active, but sometimes brand new people join right around US night time, so most people are asleep and they're like "why is no one talking" and they leave).
4. Someone else in the FC made them uncomfortable and they didn't want to bring it up
5. Most/all other people in their raid statics are in another FC
6. They want an FC that allows lewd content in the in-game chat without having to use separate linkshells or discord. (Whereas we have some younger members so we want to keep it somewhat clean).
Don't be annoyed be it. Just ask, and if it's something you can do something about, then do something about it. But don't expect people to stay forever and ever just because of a shared past.

LOL.
In all seriousness though, also look at your FC mates, the ones who are active. Maybe one of them is abrasive. Do they tell offensive jokes or talk offensively? Maybe stuff is happening behind your back when you're not on?
Life is a sequence of meetings and farewells.
FC fit is a serious thing to take into account. I've hopped around FCs a few times, especially lately, because the FCs I joined seemed promising but ultimately didn't have what I was hoping for. For example, I joined a very nice FC that had quite social people, but all the players were low level, so I had no one to do end-game content with. I waited a while hoping that a bigger number of people would catch up, but they were just sort of meandering along and enjoying their leveling phase of the game--totally fair! But that wasn't what I needed in an FC, which is people to do the newest content with, so I ended up leaving even though I was otherwise close with those people.
Likewise, I think there's a major hurdle that comes with being a small FC. If people log into the FC and there's only one or two people to talk with each day, they're likely to feel like the FC is dead and to leave. People want activity--the problem is, you've got to have active members who stay to get to that activity.
My suggestion would be not to invite random people. Instead, when you advertise, target the right people. If you're a new FC full of people who are still leveling, mention that. If you're primarily interested on creating a social FC, mention that. Try to attract people who want the same things as you, and you'll have a much more faithful and happy group of people in the end.
Player
You don't say how long these folks stick around before leaving but it does take some time to determine if the group is really one that meshes meets their needs. Depending upon how often and long folks play this could vary from a day or two to a couple of weeks. The only way you will know for sure why they left is to ask them without any pressure to answer after they leave.
You know what is even more anoying? Getting blind FC invites when you play solo.
All I can say, people come and go and it's something that all FCs will have to get used to.
When people join they mostly dont have an idea of what they will get. Maybe the FC itself was just not for them. Why should they stick around? That would just create a bad atmosphere and would probably turn the FC sour. Its not their fault that you already built bonds with them for shorter times and even long term members could leave and should be allowed too. I mean its not like being friends with someone (if you truly spent time with them and bonded with them) stops after they are gone from the FC. We have LS and with this patch even one that goes beyond the server you are on.Seriously, why the heck would they join in the first place when all they'll do is leave? I value my time, and time spent building a bond with them only to have them leave is time greatly wasted.
It... pisses... me... off.
Does anyone else here have this problem? Share your thoughts.
So question: Why are these bonds gone if they leave?
Is one hour really that much? Or maybe you want too much information from them and they feel uncomfortable to stay? If I never knew the person I would not talk about many personal details with them, even after an hour and someone telling me a lot about them in just such a short amount of time surely feels strange and people feel compelled to also answer which not everyone wants to do.Honestly, I can\\'t come up with a reason why they\\'d leave that is in anyway MY fault. A lot of them showed great enthusiasm with joining and I heavily socialized with them for an hour! We got as far as getting to know personal details about each other. And then mysteriously, the next day, POOF! They leave
It baffles me...
And if you\\'re gonna tell me "dude, they left because they got creeped out with you getting to know personal details about them", then let me just say... No. I did not ask for their phone number and address. I\\'m invasive but not THAT invasive. lol

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
We had a player leave 10 min after joining ... he ran up to the chest, i was nearby and even waved .. and he droped fc. We dont have chest rights on lowest rank. Maybe coincidence ... but some ppl you don't want to stay. 99% of players are fine but theres rotten apples.
