this game is not designed for open world PVP. you just wanna kill newbies and low level ppl.
what would be the point of it anyways? If they don't have any rewards attached to doing it then there is no point. and I can't see rewarding people for killing randos anyways it wouldn't be right.

It had great ideas such as a well thought out flagging system for reusing current maps.
As well as making new maps that would be pvp only, have no pve quests in there at all, and the main difference between that and frontline is not having to wait on a queue.
Some ideas to go with it were scheduled events (and people just goofing around while waiting for those scheduled events, think like GATEs for gold saucer), or having FATEs with pvp-related objectives instead of pve ones (so instead of "kill these monsters" fates, it's "kill players, get different amount of wolf marks based on ranking" fates)

Making such poorly thought out threads like this one will just keep non-pvp-ers believing that all pvp people just want to gank.

Also, no, not every other MMO has it, and even if they did, that doesn't mean they are better because of it. Many people who come to ff14 do so because they hate that other mmo's have it. So it's important to address that - which the other thread did. It addressed every single concern from the PVE players.

People who beg for open world pvp, in my experience, only want to run around killing low levels all day.

If you can't win a fight without attacking lower levels or ganking, no open world for you.

Statements like these are both anecdotal and hurtful to others. It's similar to saying people who enjoy Ultimate content just want to show off and lord themselves over others. Or that people who have the gil to purchase medium and large houses for themselves just want to block FCs from getting one. Maybe the people who want open world PvP just want to enjoy what they like in game in a different way? We've even asked for a separate, clearly defined zone, so as not to disturb others (side note: Innes' idea about being able to duel anywhere is a workable idea that should be done, and still wouldn't impact others.) Please think twice before making statements such as you've made.

Oh yeah that thread. I had forgotten for a second that one of the best ideas in the big 30+ pages thread got spawned off into its own thread with a detailed concept write up.
Too bad SE doesn't respond to either of them. Poor PVP enthusiasts worked really hard to create concepts that would not have any ganking of unsuspecting PVE-only players.
