How many major patches are expected or confirmed left for Stormblood?

Considering the Doma and Ala Migho stuff seems pretty much wrapped up it feels like we're soon heading into the story leading to the next expansion.
But then there's still the conclusion to the Omega raid and the Ivalice raid which I doubt they would put all in one patch. So I'm going to say 3?

My guess would be more like two major patches, both split up and dragged out with a tail of mini-patches.

Both HW and ARR went up to X.5X, given that we're at 4.3 right now, I'd expect to end at 4.57 or so.

The next Omega tier will be with 4.4, the last Ivalice one with 4.5 then.
They're going to release the next Eureka with 4.35 (...I think it was 4.35) and if we assume that we'll be getting one Eureka "map" for each element (I'm not 100% sure they've confirmed that), they can throw in one more round of Eureka in the 4.X-cycle and have 3 left for the 5.X stuff.

They've dropped some not so subtle hints that we may go up to 4.7, but whether they've got enough content in the pipeline to accommodate that is anyone's guess.

4.7 makes most sense to me looking at what we have for upcoming trials, unless our battle with Genbu in Hell's lid ends up being the only time we fight him.

Fanfest is coming up in about 5 months. (Nov. 15. Altogether it is just shy of 6 months after 4.3) Assuming they are going to announce the expansion at the first one that is not a lot of time left before they need to start ramping up expansion production. I'd probably go with 2 more patches, maybe three with the last one being cut into pieces like how they usually go about it.

I'm not so sure that we'll get another Genbu fight, but we will for sure be taking on whatever-it's-called that's locked up under there. Only question is when, since we've still got 2 lords to take on, as Genbu says so himself in the latest quests.

We aren't fighting Genbu again, he's basically reached old age for Auspices and isn't nearly as much a threat compared to Byakko when it comes to going berserk. Plus he seems to have a good grasp on himself currently.

While we have no direct confirmation, I believe we will get a 4.6, though it will function as a smaller main patch. My working theory is the next tier of Omega will follow FFVII and Omega will be a separate encounter released in 4.6. The reason being is people complained quite a bit at how long Creator lasted, thus a smaller tier would give people something else to focus on while we wait on the expansion. No new gear or anything. Just a fight to close Omega and perhaps more MSQ.

Unless we shunt another of the auspices to dungeon only, we have 2 more 4 lords battles + Koryu still to come. We could see a trial in 4.5 and another with 4.55 but I'm still betting on 4 more patches.
