The image is beautiful. I'm not up on my FF lore so I don't know where the Crystal Tower came from or what its purpose was.

I'd say a good place to start would be an industrial city like Vector in FFVI, and then expand from there.

Essentially, a city unlike anything that we've seen in XIV so far, maybe an arcology, built extensivly from metal and glass, and making extensive use of magitek for lighting and power. It would be tiered, with the elite living and working in the highest levels, where it's clean, has statues and architecture worthy of an empire, and has extensive natural lighting. The dregs of society would live in the lower levels, or an underground city that supports the levels above. Very industrial, complete with polluted water, artificial lighting, pipes leaking steam, and filled with gangs and various criminal elements.

They appear to have technology beyond Eorzea's knowing, so why would they be super technologically advanced and not have a city to match it? (?_?; )

Their rise to power is due to their discovery of Magitek technology, whether they invented it or discovered it via the lost-tech route is unknown, but I'm gonna guess it's the latter. Before that, they were literally nothing more than a few poor tribes in the north that was barely making a living.

I'm pretty sure all this is mentioned in-game somewhere, at least I'm pretty sure that's where I saw these info.

Well if that is the case, they should either have an ancient magitek city of some kind that they stumbled upon or if they invented it then they should at least have some kind of industrial magitek city that could house that monster of an airship seen at the final story cutscenes, right?

depends on the manner in which they discovered the tech. For all we know it could've been something like the Zilart in that a few survivors from an ancient civilization decided to make another bid for power, and is using the Garleans to achieve their goal.

Whatever it turns out to be, I sure hope it'll be interesting

Maybe Garlemald, the name of the empire and the capitol, look like a city with many industrial complex around now.
