He was not new to the dungeon. He had a leaf, so probably a level booster, so he got no sympathy from me nor the rest of the party as he knew what he was doing.

Just because someone has entered a dungeon at least once, does not mean that they are necessarily comfortable with the dungeon itself or the role they entered on.

And guess what? We basically got through the majority of the dungeon without him. What a concept right? A RDM, a NIN and a WHM. NIN tanking reminded me of FFXI. RDM (me) as dps and support, and WHM as our healer. We did pretty well without a tank. What is this holy trinity you speak of?

And guess what? He tried and FAILED. The healer and the nin both agreed with me that he was bad. He was not new to the dungeon. He was just slow and knowing we had maint. intentionally slowed down the run and attempted to slow it down even more when he didn't get his way. And guess what? We got through it without him for the majority. Also, even if he tried to kill me, I have dualcast Vercure so I would've survived anyway and our healer wasn't having that tank's troll tactics. Stop defending bad tanks. Just saiyan.


The moral? if you're bad at tanking at 70 and you aren't new to a dungeon in a "Expert" roulette, you might need to go back to the hall of the novice. Just saiyan.

Just want to say thank you to the SCH and MNK that I did Pharos Sirius (hard) with yesterday for sticking around when the tank bailed at the very beginning and we didn't get a replacement until halfway through the last boss. It was a long run with a few wipes but I had a lot of fun. The level sync definitely helped but you all did great. Thank you the MNK for explaining the mechanics as the healer was new to the dungeon and I have only done it once a few months ago. Thank you the SCH for suggesting us to start pulling while waiting for a tank and for keeping us alive.

I think most of us did and came to the conclusion you acted like a prat. I mean, if you're fine with that, keep doing you. But don't try and brush off the lack of sympathy as us just not reading your post.

The moral is that instead of you and the tank doing what each of you did, you could have taken the 10 seconds to type up "Can you please not countdown?" and "Can you pick up the pace a bit?" and actually talk with the tank instead of wasting even more time than needed by wiping, 3 manning bosses and/or trying to kill people.

Communication, in an MMO. What a WONDEROUS concept.

Also Bara, this is a public forum, so I can share w/e the heck I want to share as it is within the subject of this thread, so you have no right to tell me what I should or shouldn't post.

You should also be prepared for people to share their opinions and criticisms when it's pretty apparent you took a bad route with how you handled the situation.

Met a PLD in ala migho dungeon.
He warns us right from the start : I'm a noob tank.
Problem, dude wants to do everything in sword oath, even packs, and of course, pulls wall to wall.
We both DPS are 70, NIN and me as a RDM, he's still 69.
No surprise : huge damage, co-dps and I aggro everything, total mess, wipe
We explain to him that given the level difference, and his gear, he should slow it down, and switch to shield oath.
He refuses, saying he's not a tank but a dps...
I gave up trying to reason him after he said that and stayed silent for the rest of the dungeon.
That was after the first 2 packs.
We struggle somehow and manage to wipe on the 2nd boss.
After that NIN starts complaining, and asks him to stay in shield oath the whole time, since he apprently doesn't know how to aggro a boss also.
PLD starts telling us to use our aggro reducing skills, forgetting that we told him already that while running with him they were constantly on cd...
NIN ragequits, followed by me a few sec later.
PLD blacklisted.

TANKING PRO-TIP :
1 - MASTER THE BASICS
2 - THEN U CAN PLAY LIKE THE BIG BOYZ

After that, I decided to put leveling roulette on pause, and queued for a trial.

Oh and surprise, the very same tank I had just blacklisted a few minutes ago in Ala Migho !
SE should really look their blacklist coding, there's something wrong in it for sure.
Anyway, cleared it in one shot, but I hope that PLD will remember me and the 6-7 rez I gave him...

You don't need communication when the obvious is OBVIOUS. We are moving, we are rdy, and we need to hurry cause maint. is starting soon...so why the hell are you wasting time with countdowns? Pull the boss, or we pull it for you.


It's that simple and communication isn't needed for obvious reasons. The dude was acting like a entitled snowflake and slowed down our run knowing we had to hurry up before maint.

And I was prepared but you know? On a forum, I'm also allowed to speak and I defended my actions against a bad player, and I had players in game agree with me. What a concept!

You also said that you pulled the other boss. The two following you after the pull aren't agreeing with you. They are simply playing because someone pulled the boss lol... They either do that or wipe...

You really aren't making yourself look good here. I'd rather be a bad player than an ahole who takes video games too seriously.
