Hate the new loot rule, it is now impossible to gear up sub-classes without losing to someone who doesn't erven have the class they took the gear from levelled. It's extremely frustrating.
Having 'greed' as your only option when looting gear in a raid is mind-boggling. Firstly, only using greed supports lazy behaviour. Why should I join as a Tank when I can just join as a Dps and have the same chance of getting gear for my Tank as anyone else? Secondly, it is purely unfair. Why should a different class be able to get my class' gear, which is not even of the same class role? It is ridiculous. Lastly, people will be able to greed on gear which they are not even able to wear on their alternative jobs. What stops them from just greeding on every peice of loot that pops up? And you, who needed one of those pieces, get nothing?
There is a reason for having both 'need' and 'greed': you either need the piece of loot because it is an upgrade to your current equipment, or you quench your greed by getting loot to support sources outside of the current dungeon or raid.

Please reconsider this change, SE.
Tanks are the earth. Healers are the sun. DPS are the asteroids bouncing around the universe asking if anyone saw how they wiped out those dinosaurs.

Hey, SE you want a better idea to help gear up alts?
Bring back the Need system.
Just make it so if an item drops an it's a lower ilvl than the one you have currently equipped or in inventory you can't need on it, only greed. You know, because you don't "need" it.
Yeah, it's a bit prone to abuse because you could put something on a retainer (if you want to be a jerk) but it's better than what you got now.
Because if this change was to help "gear up alts" there are PLENTY of ways to go about that.
- The new dungeons drop 345 gear. And the dungeons before that drop equivalent to creation tomes.
- Creation tomes and Mendacity tomes exist.
- Sigmascape is unlocked, easy 350

Checking back in after playing this week to voice my opinion that Greed Only is awful.
Greed only would be fine if people couldn't trade the items in for GC seals. Then, gear would have no use to those who already have it. as things are, people are just loting everything with no real checks anymore.
They're great desynthesis fodder. Though the gear can't be used for either that nor GC seals yet, they always disable it for current progression gear.
