Doesn't the last one clip anyway?I mentioned Tera and this is how they fixed clipping issues. It's one of the few things in that game that made me think "that's clever".
The character in the middle shows exactly what happens when a character is equipped with a piece that would normally clip with the hair mesh. Yes, the hair style changes to something else entirely but from a aesthetical standpoint, it makes sense.

Clipping is your fault.
Just change hair or change outfit.

That's amazing, what a touch of good realism that'll make Ffxiv more immersive!I mentioned Tera and this is how they fixed clipping issues. It's one of the few things in that game that made me think "that's clever".

I mean, you have a point, maybe some DON'T want to forcefully have the hair they specifically chose in a bun, but no...ok no, hair clippings shouldn't even BE a choice in the matter, it is something that needs to be fix so everyone can enjoy that long hair they got.
So yea, bun idea is an option, maybe tucked in hair, or have hair overlap the collar. Either way 2 options hide hair, only one is over the collar.
Again i prefer short hair anyways

I would rather have the hair clip. I’m not one to care, since I revolve my glamour around my hair. Having more long styles to choose from is more important to me than to care about clipping ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While I agree Colision detection would go far in a game like this, it's sadly unlikely they'll do it as PC Players are still waiting on a High Res patch that will also not happen =/ *sigh* (even though collectively the modders could fix this in a week or 2) But the point that there trying to make is that the tied up here is optional.. and using Tera as an example and go into the options menu you see this here:
(TERA PS4 Snapshot)
So A F2P MMO has an option that basically outright eliminates there clipping issue that can be turned on/off at the players discretion, but a Sub MMO w/a FP2 style Cashshop (LITERALLY has the ability to double dip on it's player base if you go there) can't have something like this?

Back when the game was new the system in place wasn't perfect by any means. It worked on long hair styles. The reference picture is old.
Wow, they changed this into an option? I didn't know that. I played the game back when it was fresh and even then just a couple months. I don't think it was an option then quite yet, just a neat detail. Yes, i would support this as an option. But the point that there trying to make is that the tied up here is optional.. and using Tera as an example and go into the options menu you see this here:

How to Use There, Their and They're:
*Use there when referring to a place
*Use their to indicate possession
*They're is a contraction of the words they and are
*Ur is an ancient city-state in Mesopotamia, not a word

Considering that clipping does have a tendency to happen in even single player games sometimes, I've just learned not to let a small, graphical quality error bother me and stop me from enjoying the game for what it is. Usually, you have to actively be zoomed in and go looking for clipping issues to be bothered by them, it's just not worth it to me sometimes.
No game, designer, or developer will ever be perfect nor push out a perfect product that satiates everyone's aesthetics and expectations.

I also second that I really disliked TERAs forced updos, ESPECIALLY since they started doing it to literally everything that wasn't cash shop. If you wanted your hair down - 99% of the time you had to use cash shop items or low level gear. Also, the toggle is a client side only option if it matters (to me it does) so it really was not that great of an option as it seems.

If the updo was an option and it showed for other players as it showed for yourself, that would be cool. Even better if we could choose which one of the updos we use since some can clip with certain hats and weapons. I guess all of this would be a non issue if hairstyles could be added to glamour plates.
