They don't have to conform to human standards, they can have whatever proportions they want... of course you can't think those look weird, but that doesn't mean they need to be fixed. Elezen having long arms, long necks, small heads in proportion with their bodies is like miqotes having tails, part of their design.

Since it is running off a new engine, I imagine characters are being redone model wise, which is another reason we get another opportunity to customize our characters in 2.0. Just have to hope their head is proportional to their body.
