you're probably joking but..
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...your-Roe%21%21
According to XIVCensus out of about 12,000,000 accounts there's only around 130,000 female Roes. That's barely scraping 1% of the total population.
Because we have been told countless times they do not want to do bestial races because it necessitates remodeling every piece of gear to accommodate a race not even half the playerbase will touch. What will happen if Viera ever do become a thing is they'll take the Elezen or Midlander model, alter it slightly while adding a cotton ball tail and rabbit ears. Regardless, I, personally, would rather they increase the customization of existing races before adding a new one. Hence why I don't want Viera in 5.0.
they have said that adding more customization will be a trouble, remember, hell even separate horn from the face for the au ra is not possible...
Uh Viera dont have tails thats the design of thier armor...second just... what?Because we have been told countless times they do not want to do bestial races because it necessitates remodeling every piece of gear to accommodate a race not even half the playerbase will touch. What will happen if Viera ever do become a thing is they'll take the Elezen or Midlander model, alter it slightly while adding a cotton ball tail and rabbit ears. Honestly, I think the game has enough races. If they did make a new one I can bet it won't look much different from what we already have. If they added Viera it would just end up being Elezen with bunny ears and people will start complaining saying "This isn't Viera!!!1!!1!" You need to realise the Viera you see in 12 won't be the Viera we get. They have so many features that they would need to alter pieces of gear quite heavily to fit them.
Also just because you like the concept art SE created for it doesn't mean that's how it would look. Just look at the Au Ra concept art and see what we actually got they are vastly different. The thing about Art is you can do anything you want while the game itself has limitations and costs resources to make so they will cut corners.

Which only highlights a new race will see minimalistic design difference similar to Au Ra. Perhaps they should work on overhauling their system to improve customization before worrying about another race, hmm? Keep the horns together, but give us more faces, eyes and etc.
Depends on the design they choose. The cuter concept art variant did. Regardless, it doesn't change the fact they will be an Elezen or Midlander with minor difference. As for the second thing. What, exactly, was unclear about that? I prefer more customization options than a new race.
I feel people are in denial about what the majority of the international player base wants. Has no one picked up on the fact that the final au ra design chosen is a cute, petite female instead of a beast woman because... you guessed it, the majority of the playerbase world wide likes Miqo'te and Midlander females! The "strong, capable female" races in this game are a train wreck imho. Why do they have such masculine emotes? Why can't tall, heavily muscled women be elegant and retain some sort of grace?
Why should SE as a business add in a race that the minority of their customers want? Why not use their resources to please as many customers as possible? Let's be realistic. Fantasia sales will explode and possibly crash the Mog Station the moment they announce Vieras. I absolutely adore vieras and can only hope they are elegant and mature in their emotes and voices. PLEASE let them not seem so butch (no offense to anyone who is/loves that aspect, it's just not my aesthetic!).
Have you by chance seen a Viera, whilst they have some beast like features for most part the model leans more towards cute than beast, they're essential just Rabbit Miqos only with more beast like feet.
A system error occurred during event movement.
