Translations are always incorrect, if a game is originally made in japan, then japan will have the most accurate wording. It's the same for every game, there's no point to worry, only things that clip with aquariums will be removed.Until that is clarified by an official SE employee who has been informed of the specifics, though, it matters not. Half of the translations say one thing, the others say different - many people are still worried and can't trust two of the translations when the other two are contradictory. Myself included.
Having some actual confirmation or denial on what will and won't get borked up would be the best thing to set everyone's mind at ease.

You'll have to wait until after the hotfix for the aquariums then. This is not about the patch, but about the patch to the patch. With the patch they will implement a glitch that they know of, which they will then proceed to fix at some point in the near future. When they will update the game with the fix, the items that are under that glitches effect may be lost.
There are only three translations. Half and half is just not possible.
Japanese is the original language in which they were written.

The following statement is true
The previous statement is false
But anyways, I'd much prefer it if none of my furnishings get removed and/or I didnt feel coerced into reorganizing my house based on a vaguely worded threat lol

Mine certainly clips with a lot of things. Its also sitting on the floor.

So who gonna do the glitch and stack them all together anyway? Pls do a a vid.

The english text was updated.
Easy fix is to just put your aquariums into storage or just in the middle of the floor touching nothing at the times of the fix I suppose.
I know its says its just an issue for plural overlapping aquariums...but i wont risk it myself.

Japanese has to be translated for us in order for most non-JP speakers to understand it. Directly translating from the original JP source compared to the official English translation tend to be different - thus, four translations total.
Either way, they finally clarified on the issue with the full release patch notes. Hopefully with this, there will be less cases of furnishings just exploding. I'm just glad I don't use aquariums in the first place* - now that it's made clear this sort of bug will only happen with them, and not just any furniture clipping.
*Dear SE, when can I have Ala Mhigan fighting fish? ;;

Yeah I saw the patch note update. I took my floating aquarium off the partition and dumped it in the middle of the floor not touching anything. Hell no I'm not risking all my furniture when something goes wrong with the aquarium clip chaos fix. There's event stuff I can't get back that I'd really like to not lose.

I moved my aquariums as well, but assuming that the fix will come at a later date... the first thing I'm doing upon logging in is moving all current aquariums into storage.
Private, FC, FC room, and Apartment. And I might move the aquarium in my sister's house into storage to for good measure.

Yea still would be nice to know more about this.. since many of us already have floating tanks... does this mean those are at risk with any item around them? (Per todays notes)

They've clarified it about as much as they can.
IF you overlap aquariums at all, then you are at risk of losing all overlapping furniture in your house, no matter how near or far it is to/from your aquarium.
Short of looking at everyone's house and telling us if we're okay on an individual basis (which, of course, they won't do and it would be ridic to ask) then this is pretty clear.
Don't overlap aquariums, that's all you need to worry about.
There's no reason for them to lie about this, they'd gain nothing from not telling us that it could affect any overlapping furniture at all, and in fact they'd lose a lot if they did. Based off this, just don't Do The Thing and you'll be fine.
