That's wrong because Japanese players were actually asking about it when Yoshi went on his walk earlier this year on all the JP servers answering questions.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥

That's great news to hear actually! I'm curious though, were the Japanese players asking out of curiosity for just this year alone, or were they always involved within the process from the very beginning? If they were always involved from the moment that someone sparked the idea way back then, then yea, I would retract my prior statements about them never showing interest and only confusion up until this point.
You're right, 15 or so people on a forum that are unhappy does not make it an outrage, I probably should have just called it a dissent really. But, a select group of people that made it to PAX doesn't make it the majority of the playerbase either. They have to look at both avenues like you said, for good and bad criticism regardless. Of course, at PAX, no one knew that he was just going to unlocked the gender on it right away either instead. So, /shrugs.
Things are what they are. Hopefully, you guys will get what you really want eventually.

My point was that the forums are a blip on the radar, to give them credit for driving the devs away from unlocking future outfits is silly because as loud as we are here (for better or worse) we're an itty bitty minority.
As for the various communities: from digging through forum posts, reddit, pixiv, and twitter the different players have all had folks on board for the suit from the get-go especially the fan artists, bless their dedication lol
NA was the first to ask Yoshi at a live Q&A and the most persistent at large scale venues, so to someone who wasn't following the Bunnysuit Saga it might seem like they were the ones always bugging...but even at the Shanghai fanfest players wanted to know what was taking the bunny set so long. Balmung can't take credit for that one :P

The best thing they could take away from this is that people want to see more options at their disposal regardless of original intent, or at least equal treatment when it comes to exclusive/high-profile glamours.
Less than a week to go! I broke down and bought it all as soon as I saw the patch notes confirmed the existing items will be gender unlocked, I'm so weak...
Next step: Get rid of all of the other gender and racial locks.
Let women wear tuxedos and butler outfits. Let them dress like Cid or Thancred. Let men wear spring dresses or Thavnarian bustiers and dress like Y'shtola or Minfilia.
Let Roegadyns wear the Elezen hempen set. Let Lalafell wear the Hyur starter outfits.
Unlock more hairstyles for everyone!
OPTIONS ARE GOOD.
Not trying to be mean here, but how did you guys not see this coming? How did you let your expectations get so high? I remember a similar situation to this with MONK weapons. People were constantly asking for a fist weapon and never being specific enough. SE gave monks a fist weapon and what they really wanted was bare fists /knuckle weapons. Monk players finally got what they requested - only after realizing the mistake in communication.
There are more examples of this happening before too. When something is requested or suggested, the developers take it literally. You ask for the bunny suit for males; you get the bunny suit for males. Draw them a picture next time or something.

Uh, I just kinda want the ears. They should just remove gender restrictions all together.
I think given the time it took expecting more seems fair....Not trying to be mean here, but how did you guys not see this coming? How did you let your expectations get so high?
