I'm glad it was a joke, but you can't really blame me for misunderstanding. Nothing in your original post really implied at any point that it was a joke. People have made "dear <role>" posts before and been completely serious. Situations similar to that have happened to people, been posted about, and been completely serious. So I took your post at face value.

Rereading your post, I still don't find the humor in it. You painted someone you don't know, someone who--according to you now--was actually a decent person in a situation where he could have flown off the handle, as a complete jerk because it was... "funny"? Maybe I just have a really dry sense of humor, but that really doesn't make your original post look any better.

Hate to jump in the middle of this but I have to agree with Kallistra here, if it was meant to be a joke, maybe add /s for sarcasm or state it's a joke rant? Again, I have no opinion on the story as I don't actively play RDM and I have never had enmity issues as a WAR with partied RDMs but maybe in the future add a small disclaimer to avoid any conflict, as typed words are easy to misunderstand without any given flair on the internet or even in daily life like text messages or emails (I know I can be guilty of assuming an emotion that isn't necessarily easy to interpret without reading several times over or even talking with the person more in length about it).

I don't play MNK, but do they not have AoE?
We just got into an expert roulette and the MNK was legit single targeting on packs of 7+ for the entire duration.

They have a few "AOE" attacks.

"Arm of the Destroyer" which is a 360 attack. (Level 26) (Will silence if executed correctly)
"Howling Fist" which is a straight line attack. (Level 46)
"Elixir Field" similar to Arm of Destroyer. (Level 56)
"Rockbreaker" 45 Angle frontal arc attack. (Level 30)

Most Monks are "morons" sorry to say.

..But is monk aoes really that bad- or small range? I planned on switching from samurai to monk but the aoe into buffed tenka(?) on samurai is easily my favorite thing. So satisfying and slash-y!

<Remarks about RDM/War>

Red Mages hit very hard...and tend to Crit heavily if done propperly...they have an issue as a result called "Aggro Peeling"

As a Red Mage I tend to peel away one or two monsters after full enimty/aggro is established.
Thankfully I can take them down quickly by the time they go "full red"

It's a tricky dance..and one performed with planning in advance.

Which is why I call "bull" on the dps remark.

It's the same deal as in any other party - we all work together...or we don't work at all.
Tanks need to refresh their enimty more often than what I see...and DPS need to be working in concert with their tanks.
Healers DPS when not healing provided they don't blow away their mana pool (Looks at the foolish Holy Spamming White Mages)

It's easy...doesn't take a genius to figure out.

Their aoe really isn't bad at all. most monks are just lazy and need to be sued. My complaint is mainly cause I have the super hard lock on on, so when I'm attacking I'm stuck running on the outline of the hitbox. I can never run into the mob. - I like the super hard lockon so I don't turn it off- But in turn that means I'm all over the place with super mobs.

The problem with Monk is not the job.

It's the player.

When you are a Melee Class you have to be careful to observe your postilion and your "situation" in terms of taking damage.

Then you need to use the "right tool for the right job"

Too many players "button mash" or "lazy play" and it leads to bad monks/ninjas/sam's.

I have to say...playing Monk was an eye opening experience...and a rather fun one at that as someone who is used to "Ranged Caster" roles.

That and i got more commendations as a Monk than any other job to date. O.o;

Was in Copperbell Normal last night with an Ichigo Kurosaki (who looked right on for the character) last night while I was on SCH and he...told me I looked hot and started hitting on me. He told me should ditch the wedding band and get with him.

I told him my one true love was Fell Cleave.

He hit on me a few more times throughout and blew a kiss at me when we cleared. It was....strange. and I also thought it was ooc for Ichigo.
