Relic in SB was a mistake.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
It is possible they will upgrade the armor again in 4.4_5-6. Doing it now would encroach on Ridorana gear/mendacity stuff. The 4.4 gear reset would allow them to squeeze in something 5 ilvls lower than the new weekly capped tome gear.
The relic getting an upgrade makes sense, Eureka is dropping a bit after the patch which is usually the lifespan of the EX primal before they take a dump on their weapon either with the relic or another weapon (i.e Padjali/Kinna weapons from the first PoTD was the same ilvl as Nidhogg EX/Sophia EX weapons respectively). Depending on the relic ilvl I'm expecting it to be a lot more annoying/grindy.
I'm still not setting a foot into Ridorana. If they want to make me go then remove the need restriction.
I haven't set a foot into Eureka either (I haven't even done the quest to unlock), I have no interest in mindlessly killing mob after mob. But it's still a fact that's just a failure compared to the vanilla & HW one.

no armor upgrades for eurkea stuff huh? well back having my main be the only class with decent gear again was nice having a way get some kind of gear alt classes while it lasted
becoming my enemy would be unwise
How strange. I wonder what would make them do that? Could there be something underlyingly different about how they are presented perhaps? Or are they just arbitrarily doing it for some reason? We don’t seem to get cutscenes from seasonal events, so it’s not the first time things have been inaccessible afterwards, but still.
Is there somehow something in the content of scene that they don’t want the player to be able to revisit? I can’t think of a scenario.
Gear aside, you may still want to consider doing it once a week at least, as I expect there'll be tokens to use for Mendacity upgrade items. There's probably also the Cracked Clusters and some extra tomes as well.
That's not terribly surprising given the new raid, but I do hope they continue with the relic armor. I like the concept and hope it gets hammered out smoother for the next expansion.
I feel like they should have kept Eureka going and give players an option on which they prefer to do. Now we will be stuck with a 24 man and a horrible loot system in place :/
It's not super clear whether it's forever (no more upgrades at all ever) or just for Pagos.

Closest thing I can think of in the MSQ is you're unable to replay the version of the conversation between you and Alisaie in the Beneath the Star-filled Sky if you had beaten The Binding Coils of Bahamut. You only get the default version as if you hadn't.How strange. I wonder what would make them do that? Could there be something underlyingly different about how they are presented perhaps?
