The only queues that are going are the ones with people who are tiered gold to diamond everyone below that gave up
Some players at the lower ranks have not given up they simply cannot get a pop. I get FFXIV pvp community is fairly small, still SE really should rethink their approach when it comes to creating incentives for players to try something new. They tried tying rewards to top 100 players to see if that will foster healthy queues, and for a time during the early part of the season it did, but the lack of queues at the lower ranks only goes to show that SE is not getting new players to try PvP, and if they want this game to be an "Esport" (geez cannot even type that with a straight face) accessibility should be a priority and telling new players that may be interested in trying out ranked "whelp sorry you missed the window try again next season." seems like a horrible business model.
I do not know what they can do to make feast remain active throughout the season, but I do know from experience in other games when ranked queues started to suffer they threw players a bone and made a participation reward and or a token system that allowed players to earn the rewards over a period of time. Higher ranked play remained still a close knit thing which is fairly normally, but the lower level queues remained active throughout the season. Personally I think it is worth a shot to see if it would help lower ranked queue times later into a season if they added a participation reward or expanded the token system for ranked rewards at the end of the season.

well you see, the mode isnt the problem, its the people lmao
this community was just not meant for a competitive pvp mode and thats it, population would solve 90% of all issues feast as a mode has, it is already accessible to new players, there is a guide online, there are helpful discords to learn how to feast, now its for more people to play it and thats it
Because PvE and PvP is not the same.
Why PVP is held to be this sacrosanct echelon that we don't talk about?
Even if someone who got nothing but bronzes was able to get the, say 20 wolf collars needed to get the mount or armor, it would take them SEVEN SEASONS to reach that point. What is that... 3 years or so?
If someone works at a good company for a long time and does a good job, they will be recognized and promoted/entitled to stuff. If I work as hard, I can do that, and get that too.
Or better example: My friend built a house by hand, stone by stone, and it eventually turned out great and he now lives in it. Years later, I have a lot of money so I hire some people to build me a house super easily, and I live in it. We have both achieved the same thing, only I did it easier.
But if I win enough pro tennis cups, I should not be able to get my hands on previous winners gold medals right? If that isn't enough of a reason, I don't really know.

Can we truly call something "accessible to new players" if they have to seek outside information on how the game mode works? If a player need to look up guides made by the community regarding basic information in my eyes that failure of the developers and the game mode, not the causal player that is unwilling to go through such lengths to seek out such information. Information aside SE should try something to get more casual players to give ranked a try, rewards for top 100 are nice, but they already have that group of players playing, it is time for SE to focus on the casual players in hopes that they become more avid players of the game mode in an attempt to foster healthy queues throughout the season not just the start.well you see, the mode isnt the problem, its the people lmao

In that case, they either need to overhaul PvP again or stop bothering altogether. No other PvP game employs a system where you queue for two weeks, then sit on your rank for four months. They all have some form of rank decay (Halo) or competition itself is the game not the rewards (Overwatch). Not much SE could do to fix this that wouldn't remove incentive to participate in the Feast either. If they added a kind of declining standing like, "You've gone 3 days without participating in the Feast, your rank has been lowered," people would just wait until the end of the season to do it, I suppose. Or stop bothering.
The only incentive for feast is the exclusives, and as others have said, it's not like Raiders get exclusives, so why should PvP'ers?
There is no such thing as people queing for 2 weeks and sitting for the entire rest of the time (at least for top 100). The season also doesn't even last 4 months, barely over two.In that case, they either need to overhaul PvP again or stop bothering altogether. Just goes to show people who don't play the Feast are throwing around random numbers to force a narrative
rank decay is something that is needed though.

Hey Cassandra ^^ I haven't seen you play much feast lately since we're on the same data center and was wondering if you had prior experience with the game mode. If you say its easy to queue for a week and sit on a rank wouldn't everyone else have done it, yourself included? If you put in the equivalent time you put into your forum posts into feast, I'm sure you could get the rewards easily!!In that case, they either need to overhaul PvP again or stop bothering altogether.
