Wow now PUP was AWESOME just 99% of the player base could not play it correctly!

Second on Pup, a Friend of mine main'd it and the damage he did was unholy.
Granted he really gave his all to learn the ins and outs of it, the results spoke for itself![]()

People didn't like PUP? ;-;
I never played XI but with Mammets all over the place in XIV I always hoped we might get our own PUP... sadz.
Astrologian was almost original. The first was "Astrologer" in FFT, but it was just the squire job with a single added ability. That ability is the AST LB3, but it was just an all target stop.
Astrologian was a job in Bravely Second and was rather similar with a focus on buffs, but that game was only released 2 months before HW. I highly doubt that's enough time for a job to have legacy appeal, but it sure was more popular than MCH on release.

Not sure how you figure GEO is lore-wise AST. The guy came and studied Astrology and basically came to the conclusion that AST and GEOs were completely different, but complimentary; very effective when working together, one drawing strength from the heavens above, the other from the earth below. I don't believe that the GEO ever displayed any healing abilities; his spells were all about protection and defense. And in the final battle, he very literally was the tank for the fight.
If we're going to draw upon the AST quest lore to decide what GEO is going to be, signs point way more firmly to tank.
Ask "the community", and the answer is pretty much always going to be MOAR DPS. The majority simply prefer DPS to healer or tank, and if they're interested in a job, they'll want it to be DPS so that they can play it. In the interests of keeping a balanced roster, SE's simply going to have to "sacrifice" a job or two to the tank/healer pyre. If we're lucky, they'll do so in such an interesting way that a few DPS players are drawn to try a new role out...

I need Beastmaster and Ranger in my life.
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - OK! ✅ to armor
"... and mounts?

We fought Worker 7/8 already. In WoTL version they're called "Constructs" and we fight Construct 8 in Pharos Sirius (Hard), but it didn't have those beams and lasers. We've already fought the Taurus Lucavi. Duma (aka Argath. Fun fact, Rofocales is also the Sagittarius Lucavi, so we won't be seeing Shemhazai). The robot is most likely one of the Worker mobs in FFT.
As for GEO, I think it may work well as a healer, or a support-based DPS (like BRD, in a way, or if AST was a DPS).

What SE should do, is send out a list of say, 5 new jobs and have the communitty vote. Have detailed description of skills, lore, CD's. I have never played ff11 and am not sure what PUP is. Did SE reach out to the communitty and ask? I know it's a little out there, but SE having better communication with the communitty would be a nice touch.
it's always seems like the new classes introduction can go either way, but I think they did SAM because of the whole 'japanese influenced' Stormsblood story line. I supposed dancer could have fit in , but they went with SAM. I wonder what the next expansion will be......please let us go to the moon......Personally i have wanted Dancer for some time now and i know it was a job players wanted more then say Sam but SE added that instead so who knows.
I think they also go with jobs that fit certain settings so when we get some sort of idea where the next expansion takes us we can have better ideas to speculate on jobs i guess.

I think that's intended for the very very VERY endgame, since you know, spoilers.it's always seems like the new classes introduction can go either way, but I think they did SAM because of the whole 'japanese influenced' Stormsblood story line.
