Fortunately there are only 3 unique Cash shop mounts. The rest are recolors or from the korean/chinese servers (and those are account wide!)

Yeah, when we are paying extra to have alts, but there are so fun QoL things for us, it really is off putting. I don't buy the outfits from the MS, only the mounts.
When you have 16 characters, it's just not practical to buy the outfits that many times.

Yoshida already addressed this issue in the past. The reason why they stopped making everything in the cash shop account wide was because the list of items that players receive when creating a new character has to be stored in a database and that data was becoming really over bloated so they had to stop storing more information in that database (i.e stop making items account bound).
So because the issue is apparently a technical limitation, it's unlikely they will ever revert back to having mostly everything being account bound.

Except since he said that, they released two Carbuncle mounts, a panda mount, the segway mount... all account wide.Yoshida already addressed this issue in the past. Edit: And they were also talking about why they stopped making bonus items that came with physical product account-wide, not mogstation items.

I understand them turning it off for mog shop purchases if that really was the case however, them turning it off for delux goods like the artbooks and orchestra CDs is what really gets me. If you aren't going to make them account wide then stop them completely. Or do you really need to try that hard to lure people into buying the physical goodies?
Only a matter of time till the next 130$ statue has a limit one emote.

This is why I'm glad I really only play one character for the most part, as well as not bothered by both of my characters not having all the same stuff. If anything it makes them a little more unique from each other, giving a little more incentive to keep them both around.

I agree that most should be account wide but I also think it's a great deterrent to keep me from just buying things from the shop, lol. I think I have bought three staves and I wish they were account wide but I love them regardless. The rest have been the AW mounts. Won't buy a mount unless it is anyway in any game.

Narcissism. It's the new way for young people. Blame social media like Facebook, Instagram, etc.I don't understand why so many people think we care their financial choices lol.
I think if you said "I think an account-wide feature would be good!" then you'd probably get a solid backing. But by starting off in a manner that makes you seem really entitled, I feel like you're disadvantaging yourself from the start.

Please like and comment in the following thread here. This thread does a very good job summing up why the Cash Shop needs all items to be allocated account-wide, and Square-Enix says they take more stock into forum threads when they are bigger and half more upvotes.

I am not buying outfits, mounts or minions until there is an account wide option.
Add a 20-30% up charge option in the Mog station, but until one exists you are only getting my subscription fee.
I enjoy playing alts but I refuse to spend nearly 20 dollars on something that only one character can use.
I fully agree with you!
But then I read you're happily spending 20-30% more?!?! Mogstation is already overpriced, no need to spend or even REQUEST for more.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
