why isn't CON a elementalist? i can only guess you think because CON is WHM you think it is not elemental, but i think you are a little confused. CON is class WHM is job, 2 different things, GLD is class a pit fighter from ul'dah PLD is job a holy knight. see my point? CON the class will still have it's lore in gridinia and will still be elementalist

I have been thinking about this since the Class Reforms were released. The term "conjurer" (to me) always seems like either a) a summoner or b) an Elementalist. Now since CNJ isnt for sure a summoner, and even less of an Elementalist. Do you think in 2.0 that they should change the name of CNJ to something more fitting?

Just a thought. Just want to see what everyone thinks.

Fun fact: In the French version of the game, Conjurer is literally called Elementalist.

I agree with you...but I also agree that it might not be a bad idea to rename the class as we don't really 'Conjer' anything either. In other games...like Skyrim I'm currently playing, Conjurers are 'summoners'. Honestly, we probably should have been named 'Druid' like the Germans at the start...since it fits the actual essence of what this class does more than Conjurer.

At least for me when I hear Druid I think: Priests who were for the most part 'good' who used magic and their knowledge of the arcane to heal and commune with nature. However, they also knew how to use the natural forces around them for protection....sounds pretty darn close to what CNJ actually is/does in game. And actually, had they named us 'Druid' from the get-go, I think there would have been a couple less posts of 'CNJ should be BLM not WHM'

I also feel Druid to be more appropriate. I see no need for changing it now though. As far as the name elementalist goes, there is no logic in that name anymore. With the spells I read, CNJ will be no more of an elementalist then THM is to be.

If you take elementalist only as someone whom casts elemental spells... eh maybe but why not take elementalist as someone whom communes with the elementals and can cast some elemental based spells... but the main part is talking to the elementals which makes it an elementalist.

Why would you doubt that? They dramatically changed the classes to be pretty much the SAME as their future job. The job black mage is THM spells plus a few. It's actually a pretty good observation considering the circumstances.

Fact: More Jobs will be released that stem from these classes. More classes will be released that have jobs that stem from this.

Logic: If they had any intention of throwing away current classes for traditional jobs only, they wouldn't bother with a system like the Job System and would have just renamed and redone the classes with this very reform we are about to get.
