I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
Would be a boring tank then, we already have dork knight as the "magic" tank, although not really magic anymore, let alone "fail Evasion" tank lmao.
If anything it'll be a healer, that'll work maybe like the monk form changing for different effect or maybe like the AST card in conjunction with AOE healing/defense field.
That's some warped logic there. Don't add RDm it'll just be another boring caster, don't add MCH it'll just be another boring ranged, Don't add SAM it'll just be another boring melee... see where I'm going with this.

Ya, twisting my words. We all saw how drk turned with stormblood, the suppose "magic" tank, supposed "evasion" tank, turned to a shell of its former self. Not sure why you're bringing DPS to this, (MCh being one of them, they could delete it and i doubt people would care), rdm and sam are different enough from blm&other melee to be worth it. Also, we all saw what happened to PLD in 4.X with it being the defense tank of the expansion, being laughed at, ridiculed, while warrior&drk we're praised for their higher DPS and ect..
You want Geomancer to be PLD 4.X? I'd rather it be a healer and have something new to toy with, if we're judging by what we saw with that job quest, it'll be a healer class, if its anything else, i'll be surprised as fuh.

Oh but I didn't. And everything you said, skews towards my favor more than yours.
The point is we don't know what we are getting and how we will be getting it. But the bottom line is, most, if not all, of the jobs do the same thing, its just the names we call it and the flashiness that comes with it that is different; mechanics aside of course. Whether I punch someone, stab them with a knife or sword, or cast a fire/ice/thunder/water/earth/air spell on them, if they all do 200 potency, then technically they are all the same thing. Saying it would be "boring" when you know nothing about it, the 14 iteration specifically, is jumping the gun.
And also, this is not geared specifically towards you, but why does everyone think Geomancer would be a healer based on the quest line. The quests said nothing about healing, they emphasized protection, granted that could apply to healing, but also tanking, hence why people bring it up. But there is also the fact that we might not be using that form of Geomancy. I mean we are using Sharlayan Astromacy, not Ishgardian, despite the fact the Job comes form Ishgard, Ishgardian Astromancy is a thing.
