If this is all you thought of reading my post your are mistaken. Rocket League & Fortnite are extremely poor cross-play examples as they both rely on multiple Companies' specific network data. XIV & XI don't.

What we do have is specific statements from the XIV Producer/Director stating SE & MS are unable to come to terms. With Yoshi stating the primary concern being he doesn't want players having to pay for 2 game services just to access XIV. (XIV sub + Gold) The talks have been going on for literally years.

Because of limitations they started to tear graphics out of other places in the world colors and other stuff, the sky used to look good then you look up now you see square grids all over sunny shine effects were gone, they removed really cool fireworks that spelled stuff in the sky and things just got really ugly as time went on.

You want that to happen to FFXIV? once cross play happens then they say oh limitations cat do this or that unless do this or that.

Then FFXIV will become FFXI until down the road they decide ok well maybe we should drop it but by that time it will be too late.

You do know FFXI is a PS2 game ported to the PC, so from the start you already bound to one systeem. Thr game is only alive now because of working PS2 devkits. Ofcourse the game looks horrible overtime. Older games are never made with higher resolutions in mind and wil look washed out then you remember. Your claim about removing effects sounds a like a sweet little lie.

FFXIV is a different story. The main platform is the PC and everything is ported to another platforms so that is easier to upgrade and more scaleble with settings. PC players has more options in the settings for example then PS4 users who has a fixed layout.

My cousin said you must not have played during the beginning of FFXI and you never seen the congratulations fireworks or other stuff they had either.
He said they even made post on a update saying they would have to take out some graphics in order to have things for other stuff I remember because some of the weapons in Auction house changed in color and look from fancy to garbage.

He also said you probably never did the twinkling treants event. He's played since the very start.

He never took a break also played on pc and ps2 and he noticed changes.

He stopped playing ps2 because the black screens started happening this was during the time they were asking to drop ps2 support and re-vamp it on pc but never happened that was years ago even before they added xbox 360 he's got old pictures from the past on how graphics changed from good to bad so don't sit here claim something so it makes it look good for them to push this on other consoles.

If you are one of those people who think FFXI still getting content yeah right, its re-hash of old stuff done back then now if they had removed ps2 from start playing they would of had time to fix on ffxi so the devs could of made new content but because it took too long and so many expansions came out there was no way in hell for them to rebuild it without it taking too long.

Nope, you are making things up again. Yea let's remove the main console from the game while many JP play on it and rebuild it. Was life that easy, FFXIV would have a texture ultra high pack already. At the time SE wasnt doing well at all. It worked and they never wanted to change it. Why invest in something when at the time wasnt needed. The game is getting old and issues you notice know were maybe unnotice at the time.

Topic at hand, shall i repeat myself again with actual facts in which MS still want their own servers and this be ONE of the reasons why xbox players do not yet have ffxiv.

You may want to try VR first and come up with your own opinions btw. While you are correct that VR implementation has some problems, I strongly disagree with the vast majority of reasons you're talking about as both a developer, and user.

I honestly dislike both Companies for different reasons, as I was effected by data breaches from both. If either Company wants to be greedy towards security, they will continue to learn the hard way and pay for it as well as lose customers.

What I find hilarious about the poor "journalism" coverage of Rocket League Dev is simple. If the Devs of RL REALLY CARED, they would have made a verification hand off server with unique free accounts and a stat tracking system and it never would have been an issue for Cross-Plat. (besides the standard, XBL has a dedicated XB only server as well) Was the question ever asked? Nope...

Correct, own servers & the fact they continue to not budge on Gold requirements. I even threw MS a bone stating they are still having talks about it to this day.

Veteran FF11 player here (and still plays). I also call bs on your "cousin" claim. Never did I see a degrade or cut of effects. Is it possible he/she turned down effects under config settings?

Now the graphics looks nothing alike you showed not on PS2 or XB360 (before it was shut down in 2015) and absolutely not on PC.

Seriously though, I did a lot of fishing on that ferry and I don't remember visuals actively getting removed from it.

I do remember events gradually getting weaker but that was purely down to the development team behind them getting progressively more watered down as time went on.

Everquest demonstrates exactly the same trend where the overall production values have faltered and failed as the investment in the game has dried up.
