The problem was the main tank, who went in sword oath, used cooldowns sparsely and ignored our polite requests to switch to shield oath. In fact, he did not speak at all.
Sometimes he lost aggro, which made us get cleaved ....

As a tank myself, I can't help but wonder where the other tank was in all this (before the PLD let the other tank take the boss, I mean). Was that tank securing the boss once he turned loose? (If I remember correctly, the only thing Susano has that cleaves is his tankbuster, and that's only every 30-40 seconds, so plenty of time to take hate unless the timing's just *that* bad.) I'm not defending the PLD by any stretch; just pointing out that an attentive OT can keep things from getting bad enough to become desperate.

And now my own story, as I continue leveling (shudder) WHM. Got the Aery for roulette, and there really wasn't much to speak of, aside from the PLD who didn't turn on Shield Oath even after being asked (and yes, I'm pretty sure *everyone's* forgotten a stance due to level sync at least once -- I'm convinced it's a rite of passage now), which I wouldn't mind, except that the mobs liked my healing + holy spam more than most of what the PLD was doing. None of that was the cause of the run's only deaths, though .... those came when I got the first sable on Nidhogg and no one freed me.

I lose no-death runs to some of the silliest things. -.-

Just wanted to say how much I love this community.

I'm very new to tanking and have been super nervous about trying to tank dungeons. Last night, I finally worked up the courage to try tanking a dungeon. I let the party know that I'm a new tank. The party was super supportive of me the whole way and kept telling me how great I did and I walked out with 3 commendations. So to three pugs I did Tam-tara with yesterday: thank you for being so supportive

I'm going to be very minimal and blunt on this one:

-Sirensong sea on Bard.
-Healer has 13k hp (ilvl 200 left side, all accessories <120), but never once died thankfully.
-Tank leaves after first set of enemies after second boss for a potentially actual irl reason
-Replacement warrior enters almost asap. Cant hold aggro at all and I die to a combination of flood and enmity before the final boss.
-Got aggro on final boss...

Maybe this is why I healer main. At least I feel safer when I do. Also still voting for ilvl requirements of some sort for leveling dungeons.

I know there's not much context to go on here, but it sounds less like the healer's fault and more like the tank's fault. Was the healer perfect? Obviously not, but when you mentioned you died, it's because you had hate.

Going by the order of events you'd think you'd realize that only started being a problem in that run ONLY when the new tank showed up. Never has it been a problem in any run until then.

It's less me and more the tank not knowing how to tank well. For staying in defiance he sure couldn't keep aggro for anything.

Of course I had hate when the tank isn't holding enmity at all. Even the other dps in the party was almost overtaking aggro but didn't because he wasn't that good. The only fault of the healer was being heavily undergeared but as for anyone dying it's generally the other dps' fault for not running away during the second boss and the tank for not keeping aggro at all.

I appreciate the lecture but I'm fully aware of enmity dumps like tactician and refresh. Doesn't do me much good if they're on cooldown. I at least avoided death on the final boss because they were available.

Edit: To clarify further I'm not ripping on the healer aside from their gear (I didnt mention it to them and I'm sure they knew full well what they were doing), but rather the tank. It was a lousy run sure but it became even more lousy when the new tank showed up.

You also completely misunderstood. I meant that when "I" am the healer I generally have to deal with less nonsense than if I played a different role, i.e. on tank with healers rude beyond compare or dps where healers or tanks are not performing their roles causing the entire party problems. I didn't mention healer in this instance to hate on the poorly geared one this run as I did mention they didn't die.

I now have quite a strong suspicious feelings whenever I see a MCH during runs that's not Savage. Those I met would either:
-deployed Rook Autoturret the entire run even during 5 trash pulls,
-deployed Bishop Autoturret entirely even during single bosses,

It got quite silly that one Bishop user kept using it for bosses and I would intentionally position them out of turret range, only for them to re-deploy it right under the boss again, causing what's basically cat-and-mouse game between me and their turret. That was sad and hillarious and at the same time.

Hmm. This sounds familiar. Was your Warrior an androgynous male hyur with pink hair? If so, that was my terrible tanking. >_< Although that sounds a bit bad even for me so perhaps not. In any case, the reason this caught my attention was the mention of poor gear on the healer. In the Sirensong run I had, the SCH couldn't keep me up after pulling the first two trash groups and nearly died to unavoidable boss aoes. Their excuse for the mob wipe was that it was too much for a SCH to heal, to which I mentally face-palmed because as a lvl 70 SCH, I knew that was bullshit. Then I looked at their gear. And saw the IRONWORKS LVL 50 BOOTS and leveling dungeon stuff they were wearing and just... sighed to myself and micro pulled. Ug.

Joined leveling roulette to get Bardams(sp?).
The first group gets pulled, then the healer says " kick me trying to join this dungeon for a friend ".
I'm sure he knows you can't kick right away, but doesn't want to eat the penalty and is fine wasting everyone else's time instead.
So, instead of healing until then, or simply leaving; he just sits there doing nothing and lets everyone die.
Finally, one DPS leaves and only then does the healer leave (with no penalty, of course) right after cussing when questioned.
I don't even understand why he forced us in to begin with since you can see if a queue is in progress or not before accepting.

And as for SCH having problems healing... I remember in 4.0 healing Bardam's on SCH with a DRK who pulled wall to wall. It made me want to strangle them but we never wiped.

You're a better SCH than me. It was my best healing class before SB but now it's my worst one. That would have been a wipe most likely. Kudos. <3
