Had a LotA run not too long ago where a friend noticed our AST went afk all the way through to Bone Dragon. When she purposely commented, they claimed to be lagging or some such, drew a card and cast a single aoe healer before going quiet again. This persisted for the reminder of the run, spot heals here or there and never once using cards. We assumed they were just hoping to AFK their way through, which became readily apparent when another friend commented and said AST started spamming the chat with auto-translate. Since they refused to roll on loot, not much we could do. That was... until they were grabbed by the claw during the last boss. Lo and behold, we wipe and the loot timer conveniently had 60 seconds left. We asked the other alliances to hold, which they surprisingly did, and whoops. We lost an AST~

I know LotA is a total snore, but it irks me to have leeches regardless of how easy content may or may not be.

This one was one where I couldn't help but laugh at my own scrubness.

Queue up for a 50-60 dungeon Roulette. Get Snowcloak. Tank was shaky the whole run, Healer was new. We get to Fenrir, we get a few wipes because literally everyone else gets frozen by Lunar Cry.

We finally down it after I'M the only one that gets frozen and one shot. I kind of wanted to cry.

Queue up for a 50-60 dungeon Roulette. Get Snowcloak. Tank was shaky the whole run, Healer was new. We get to Fenrir, we get a few wipes because literally everyone else gets frozen by Lunar Cry.

We finally down it after I'M the only one that gets frozen and one shot. I kind of wanted to cry.

If it makes you feel better, it took me a while to realize you needed to stand behind the remaining icicle to avoid being frozen. No one ever told me outright that was how you do it lol.

I'm not sure what I was expecting. It was rabanastre and I rolled WHM.

First boss didnt get tanked for at least 10-15 seconds letting people get cleaved. Second boss the usual person here and there runs on the wrong side of the field (and someone from another party naturally stacks with mine, gets a marker, but is smart enough to walk away to suicide by himself). Rafocale was pretty standard.

Then we wipe to Argath. All of the adds were heavily spaced out and no one was killing them. The entire raid turned into chickens and then his special one shot the raid. At which I furrowed my brow irl slightly, threw down a marker in the middle to stack adds at (which they did) and to stack sword markers at (a lot did not).

There were no mapping achievements or bonuses.

I just unlocked Toto-Rak for my fledgling scholar-alt, and the roulette keeps sending him in there.



First run - having just unlocked it for MSQ, and roulette not calling for healers, I queued for the dungeon directly. Got a bard, an arcanist who might have been actually new (in unglamoured leveling gear) and... a dark knight who double-pulled everything. Racing off down those twisty passages while I quietly freak out about not being able to heal around corners. Nobody died but he needed a lot of healing attention.



Finished up, checked the duty finder and healer is now in need, so queue up and.... here I am in Toto-Rak again, and the tank is watching the opening cutscene. This is going to be different.

He turns out to be the most timid tank ever - to the point of half-pulling the first few mobs (turns out the pterocs can be fought on their own if you lure with Shield Lob and don't run up to the flytrap). He kind of needed herding through the dungeon, and mercifully all the rest of the party were patient with him.



Next day, get it again, and this time there's a warrior in job gear and a mage in novice gear both watching the cutscene. They both say something in Japanese. I assume they're together and the warrior was only watching it because they were with their friend-who-is-new.

Then we get to the final boss, and who's new? The warrior. Who dives into the arena and sets off the lockout timer? Both the DPSes. D: No choice but to run after them and hope that the warrior joins us.

It's a relief to see the "watching cutscene" label vanish from the party list, but it turns out to be too late. We're locked in the boss room without a tank.

We make it through (I assume it helped having 'two healers' on the job) but it was messy and hectic and people were running everywhere.



Next day.... again. And everyone knew what they were doing! Just went through and it was straightforward and after all those runs it seemed like a small miracle.

Fun story I had in Mhach run.

So I got this run with my PLD and everyone in each team says hello. But then I noticed a player sharing the same character name as me (with the H and one L missing).

"Hello Axel ! My name is Axhell !" I said.

"Brother is that you ?!" He responded.

And during the run, we proceeded to have a fun little role-play where we called each other brothers.

The bromance was so real, some people joined into our little role-play and we had some really good fun.

We would say silly stuff like : "I'm sorry Bro I died." "I'll never forget you bro." or "Did you see my LB bro ?" "Yeah bro it was majestic."

I wish he was in my team because I would have loved to become friends with him.

I hope my bro sees this post and is having a great day.

Well, did something today I didn't think was possible. Got Titan Hard Mode in the Trial Roulette and most of the party got KO'd right around the Titan't Heart bit with only me (tank), one healer and a dps still standing. And we don't wipe! The three of us, despite being level synced to fifty, managed to slowly but surely whittle down Titan's health bar from half to nothing. That healer that managed to keep all three of us alive really deserves a round of applause for that.

I just want to apologize to everyone I partied with today. I haven't been playing seriously for months and coupled with my wrist locking up, making navigating my skills difficult, I know I wasn't the best healer in the three duty finders I did today. Thank you all for your patience and for not yelling at me when you had every right to.

Trials roulette, landed on Susano normal as AST, a class I am used to.
My boyfriend tagged along as SCH, a class he is new to, though he at least used the barrier whenever needed since he knows the fight.

The problem was the main tank, who went in sword oath, used cooldowns sparsely and ignored our polite requests to switch to shield oath. In fact, he did not speak at all.
Sometimes he lost aggro, which made us get cleaved, and we had newbies who kept making mistakes which also required extra healing and raising. Between that and the heavy cleaves inflicted on the tank, both me and the other healer were rapidly out of MP in spite of usually doing a good job at MP management.

After two wipes, my BF and I agreed on stopping to heal the MT and let him die, marking our third wipe. That is when he finally spoke, claiming that he knows what he is doing since he has savage gear, and generally insulting us both for being "salty", and my BF for being a "noob".

After he was done being rude, he just let the other tank take aggro and we finally cleared.
Never met anyone as cocky as that before and I hope it'll never happen again!

That means literally nothing and i really wish people would stop saying it(they wont - its something they can say to feel superior). People have been selling savage clears(and therefore gear) for 3 months now. At this point scores of people have been carried to savage clears they didnt deserve based on their play. And even if we assume this guy is good(i dont because the evidence doesnt seem to support the idea), many people have been doing it long enough to gear alt classes. Just because your ninja can clear savage doesnt mean you know shit when youre on your(potentially well geared) paladin. If he were truly the great player he wants you to think he is, he should have been able to adapt to the situation after one wipe(or halfway through the first fight without wiping at all - i lost control of the boss and the healers are in trouble? i better damn well adjust).
