This was semi talked about yesterday in my FC, and most agreed they would like to see more female Primals, but there aren't many to begin with. Excluding the Ivalice Espers, since they might be tied to the raid, there are a total of 13 female summons in the series, not counting spin-offs: Shiva, Garuda, Lakshmi, Valefor, Asura, Syldra, Seraph, Siren, Eden, Madeen, Anima, The Magus Sisters, & Brynhildr. And if you wanted to add other "summons" from the main series there is Angelo from VIII and Ultima and Shemhazai from XII.

Of those original 13 several are already in the game. Garuda, Shiva, and Lakshmi are all regular primals, Siren is a boss/race, Seraph is in the game as Lily(Eos/Selene), Syldra is a mount, and Anima might not appear because of the Anima Weapons. That leaves Valefor, Asura, Eden, Madeen, The Magus Sister, and Brynhildr left; 6 that's about half. That may seem like a lot but from the pool the Devs have to choose from, it's pretty small.

Now based on the teaser leading up to patch 4.3 people are speculating Asura will be summoned by Yotsuyu. But what of the other 5? If the Moombas from VIII become a beast tribe, Madeen could be their primal since she resembles a lion. Similarly, If the PuPu get added Eden could be their primal. Of possible other races the series has made, I can't think of any that The Magus Sisters or Brynhildr would work for. But there are two that might be interesting to see; the PeruPeru and Hypello from X. The PeruPeru would be interesting since we don't have a real "human" beast tribe, not sure if they aren't just X's versions of a lala, but meh. and the Hypello would be nice, cause it's another aquatic one, we got fish and turtles, why not an amphibian.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

If we go with the assumption that no Eikon is being summoned, what could the trial be then?

Some kind of magitek superweapon seems like the next best bet to me.

A few possible ideas outside of Yotsuyu or Asahi, super unlikely, but throwing them out anyways:
    1. Ganen.
He is, after all, the dude entombed in the Swallow's Compass - and while having him as the last boss of the dungeon makes entirely more sense, it wouldn't be out of the question that we have to fight his spirit as its own trial for some reason or another. It would be cool as hell, at least.
    2. Gosetsu.
Maybe I just want some more samurai daddy in my life, but Gosetsu's been acting weird ever since he came to be the de facto guardian of "Tsuyu." Hell, Hien points his behavior out as being strange, and not even Yugiri has any idea what's going through the man's mind. Could this bring up some dark secret in Gosetsu's past that causes him to make some really shit decisions? Will we have to face him in a trial to smack some sense into the man? Probably not, he'd sooner sit on a cracked cluster than betray Hien, but it's fun to think about.

I'm intrigued by the idea of the Garleans themselves dabbling in Summoning, now that Zenos has proven that the things can be directly controlled using the Resonance. Given that the Warrior of Light has a reputation for destroying any and all Primals, though, makes me think this tactic is unlikely. It would be like building tanks out of ice when you know that the opposing army are all packing flamethrowers. It would also be a PR nightmare if the Garleans did it openly, given that they've been staunchly opposed to Primals and engaged in an extremely costly invasion of Eorzea with the stated goal of ending the Primal threat. I suppose they could deploy "black ops" teams to summon Primals in inconvenient places and shift the blame to Beastmen. Alternatively, they could have some amazing spin-doctors reassure the populace that they're "using the enemy's weapons against them", or something.

This is a pretty big stretch, I'd say, Seraph, in her previous depictions has always been bird-winged, while Lily/Selene/Eos clearly has butterfly wings. The fact that they both happen to be "winged girls" is too tenuous a connection to establish that Lily/Selene/Eos is "this game's take" on the classic esper. I'd definitely say that Seraph is still on the table. I WOULD say that Lily/Selene/Eos is this game's take on the concept of fairies, who are a reoccurring race in the FF canon. Her existence most likely means there aren't any "real" fairies in the game; just aetheric constructs used by Scholars. (Not impossible, mind; it could be that the original Scholars modeled their constructs on an existing race of fairies.)

Ever see a SCH LB, Seraph is their LB3. The pseudo lore is its Lily using both aspects of herself at once, though one could argue it a seperate being entirely. Plus here is a picture of what she looks like during the lb

Those wings match your description of birdlike I believe. And more added proof the LBs name is Angel Feathers, which is Seraph's move when she is summoned.

If the zenos at the end is the real zenos one has to wonder what his actual goal will be from here on out. He already got what he wanted in stormblood which is why he took his own life, so what would he even gain from living from here on out. It's obvious to think it's not the real zenos, but is it too obvious or is the fact that it could be a red herring a red herring in itself?

It should be Asahi and the whole fight should consist of an Active Time Maneuver where the faster we hit the button, the harder we punch him in the face at the end.

I'm hoping we get to humiliate him on top of Zenos rubbing salt in the wound by dismissing him later.

He really doesn't come across as a remotely sympathetic character when he's basically just mad at the Domans for refusing to submit to the Garleans like he did, and he doesn't even seem to have an excuse like wanting revenge how Fordola did.

    SCH's LB is Seraph(Seraphim)

    Final Fantasy VI Esper:

Final Fantasy XIV SCH LB3 Fairy:

FFVI Esper: Seraph costs 40 MP to summon. Its ability is Angel Feathers (previously translated as Reviver), which restores HP for the entire party with a Spell Power of 18.
