Gold Saucer would make the most sense and be the fairest option, but I dunno, I'm feeling pretty cynical this week.

Gold Saucer would make the most sense and be the fairest option, but I dunno, I'm feeling pretty cynical this week.
Putting it anywhere else would mean they'd have to make more items instead of just removing the gender lock on the existing items and adding the new models to it. Plus, on the case someone actually uses the outfit but wants to fantasia back and forth between the genders, that would cause a bit of a problem.
So here's to hoping they'll go the path of least resistance about this and just remove the gender lock.
People arguing like crazy, meanwhile I can't wait for them to get released. Really happy how they turned out personally. Gonna glam that over my WHM set :^)

While I'm sure the point has been made previously in this thread, and possibly many times over, I wanted to chime in with my own opinion. I'm disappointed with the way that the male outfits turned out, as it pretty much just looks to be men crossdressing in the female outfits. Women in sexy women's clothing is sexy. Men in sexy women's clothing is comical. The men should be dressed in sexy MEN'S clothing for a proper equivalency to exist.
Just as the bunny outfits we have are designed to appeal to the male eye by highlighting the parts of the female body that men find appealing, the men's outfits should be designed to appeal to the female eye by highlighting the parts of the male body that women find appealing. A bare chest seems like a minimum requirement, and we don't even have that - though, to be fair, we've only seen these outfits from the back, so it's possible that the body piece is a vest, or something. Still, would have preferred just a collar. I had high hopes when it was announced that women would be designing these outfits, but I feel let down.

You can already do a bare chest on male, using the emperors new chestpiece. Why do we need a glamour for something that already exists? A collar also already exists, in multiple forms. Theres even a bow from moggle mog.Just as the bunny outfits we have are designed to appeal to the male eye by highlighting the parts of the female body that men find appealing, the men's outfits should be designed to appeal to the female eye by highlighting the parts of the male body that women find appealing. It was always said that they would be removing the genderlock on these, they never mentioned that they were designing new outfits. I'm not sure where all the shock thats its just the female pieces came from.

The shock is coming from Yoshida stating that they were going to get the female staff members to work on it, which many, including myself, took to imply they were planning to make alterations to make it more appealing on male characters (because why would you need only females to work on a straight 1:1 conversion unless it was in order to design something appealing to females? Sadly, the real reason turned out to be that the male team members are not professional enough to work on male glamour without catching cooties.).

It's a bit selfish to imply that they're not being professional about their positions without taking into account that their culture and views are widely different than our own on the idea of males wearing revealing and sexually attractive and implied clothing choices. What one person is comfortable with, another may not be. Don't forget that NA was the only ones mostly asking for this where EU and JP were a bit confused, especially JP. The devs thought we were joking the whole time and don't always get our culture views on certain everyday aspects.
People keep saying this, but it still comes down to being professional. If you're going to offer an mmo on a global scale it shouldn't be surprising that you're going to run into stuff like this. It's an excuse that explains why they were reluctant to do it, but still comes down to being unprofessional about considering the global scale of the game. It's SE's fault if they don't have either Japanese devs that can be professional enough to do their jobs or another groups of devs that can handle these things the Japanese team would rather not. It's a bit selfish to imply that they're not being professional about their positions without taking into account that their culture and views are widely different than our own on the idea of males wearing revealing and sexually attractive and implied clothing choices. But they didn't make 'sexy male' gear they just ported the female gear on to the male frames which should not need you to bring in some female staff to do.So basically, understand NA culture or you’re unprofessional. That’s a huge jump there friend. It is really confusing for them — and not in the offensive way — in the “they don’t understand” kind of way. Cultural differences exist. They don’t speak English. Sure, you could always translate it. But it still wouldn’t be understood enough. Even if they did though, different people work on different things. A “sexy male” isn’t really well known phrase in Japan. Which might explain why they brought females in to assist. So they technically did find people who were more knowledgeable on the topic at hand. Which were girls. It’s not socially acceptable there to do any of this in the male life. Not sure for females. I don’t mean anything rude by saying any of this but man, you gotta remember that NA is not the only culture out there.
Always look forward to future costumes, it’s not like this’ll be the last one friends.
