Usually starts sometime between 8-10PM EST and when it starts, no matter what steps I take to try to correct it, stays that way till I'm not sure when because I usually just turn on my VPN at that point.

Added firewall exception rules for FFXIV.

Did a clean boot, but normally I only have FFXIV, Discord, Chrome, ad the VPN when I need it open while I am playing.

I added the ports mentioned to the port forwarding, but not the triggered. Will have to work with my ISP for that because I could not figure it out myself.

Recently however, I am now getting 100 ping without my VPN, and not during the high spike hours, not sure why, but it jumps up when it hits the aforementioned IP's. See attached image:

    Thank you for your response!

Contacting your ISP to assist with the port forwarding would be my best suggestion at this point. Please keep us updated.

I willl try to reply later with more screenshots, but for the past few days I have to use a VPN just to play at below 100 ping, and I am unsure on what has really changed since then. I believe it still has to do with a problem on the route as it hits the west coast. Interestingly enough(nd will try to grab screenshots of this as well) I am getting close to 100 ping using the Los Angeles node through my VPN and lately have found I get closer to 80 ping if I use the San Fransisco node. Not sure if that one is geologically closer than the Los Angeles one, or if it has to do with the route the traffic takes to get there. Will try to continue with the updates when available.

You are hitting NTT nodes. It's not you or your ISP. It's Square Enix's ISP dropping the ball. Refer to the NA thread stickies in tech support and post your tracerts there as well. More people to bring this to light the better chance we have of actually seeing something done about this problem.

Yeah, I had figured a while ago after a lot of investigating that it was a routing issue outside my ISP, but it seems to only be affecting certain pathways because my VPN circumvents it. I'll add to the posted forum, thank you.
