They might have thought they were casting Ruin before they realized they were pushing the wrong key.

I may or may not be speaking from experience. *Coughs awkwardly*

Well, at least it beats the awkward healer experience where you think you’re desperately healing the tank then realise you didn’t lock on properly so the spells have been targeted at yourself instead...
I hate it when that happens. "WHY IS THEIR HEALTH STILL DROP -OH, SCHLITZ"
You go in POTD, and reach floor 99.
You have used one of those Pomanders that lets you see traps.
You have just finished a BIG PULL, courtesy of the tank, and now the whole group is low on health, also, there is a landmine right there.
"But that's okay" i think "Just skirt around it"
And then suddenly one guy JUMPS right ON TOP of the landmine, detonating it and killing everyone. Wipe.
And in the party chat the culprit writes the traditional terrorist warcry, you know the one.
What. The. Heck?

That awkward moment when you healed Brayflox without a sect on and didn’t realize it until getting aspected benefic before the last boss, felt excited to try it out, mumbled to yourself ‘hmm, where is the HoT promised by the tooltip?’, repeated the process several times, and realized that you’re stupid.

Hahaha, don’t worry, that’s my usual reminder that I forgot to set a sect. ^_^;That awkward moment when you healed Brayflox without a sect on and didn’t realize it until getting aspected benefic before the last boss, felt excited to try it out, mumbled to yourself ‘hmm, where is the HoT promised by the tooltip?’, repeated the process several times, and realized that you’re stupid.
Another case of jump potions gone wrong, and in Ex trial no less. Though the story has a lot of bad stuffs going on including myself in the end.
Running mentor roulette and got Ifrit Ex. PLD was level 66 sprout with all Shires. Once the barrier dropped, they proceeded to pull boss to middle of arena and faced him right to the party, resulting many cleaves;cue jump potter. The AST kept staying with the rest of party even when they got Searing Wind causing some early deaths - at least the sprout WHM who might be alt or did research beforehand knew what to do. The WAR fellow mentor kept going OT but didn't take aggro when the PLD ate 5stacks of debuffs and only provoked when PLD ate the dust. The MCH despite being level 70 with Anemos weapon, crafted left side gears and Sigmascape accessories, deployed Bishop Autoturret. First round we managed to reach 2nd set of nails before wiping.
Second try, I asked the PLD to use Sword Oath instead, remotely asking them to be OT (using auto translate since everyone was Japanese). They still did the pull but no biggie since WAR was already in Defiance and took aggro quickly with good positioning. AST wisened up and started to move away when they realized they got wind, which is few seconds late and still hit everyone. MCH still loved Bishop too much but we got to last set of nails before WAR died and PLD cleaved everyone again and we wiped to dps check.
Next, someone started countdown and PLD pulled, middle, cleaved party, again. WAR didn't move until later, apparently getting annoyed and when they did, decided to be OT, in Defiance, letting PLD did whatever they wanted. Somehow managed to reached last set of nails again despite many cleaves and winds but of course, dps check fail.
One minute before Vote Abandon can be initiated and someone did countdown again (I didn't notice who did) and this time, RDM pulled. Aggro was everywhere since both tanks didn't move until late and WAR provoked. Meanwhile I got enough and simply stood there doing nothing and eventually died and got raise but I didn't accept. Party wipe and finally we vote abandon and it passed.
Just another day of Mentor roulette in general.

I'd happily take Praetorium over any EX primal in Mentor Roulette any day. At least I can clear the dungeon, talk with my Discord mates, chat in in-game chat, read some sites, help newbies, and get some rewards for clearing. That awkward moment when Mentor Roulette gets you into Praetorium and it is legit faster and more productive to take the penalty than complete the dungeon.
Thanks a lot, SE.
Oh well, I guess at least one DPS that said he queued for the wrong roulette had a free pass to freedom once I was out.
In an EX primal, there is at least one or two people who want a carry and won't enough contribute enough to clear the instance they tried to queue in Duty Finder of all places. And people still struggle in HW EX primals unsynced (Sephirot, Sophia, and Zurvan EX are the biggest culprits here.)
I've had a run where I joined Trials Roulette in progress. Got Susano story as Paladin. I can see why one of the tanks bailed. One of the healers got in the middle of the arena to get knocked out by Susano's Ultimate after we successfully cleared the mechanic (the rest of us survived of coursed). Also, both of the healers kept on dying to avoidable aoes. The summoner and red mage had to res them often.
