Not like this... You think the app conversation is bad, you didnt see how ugly things got over the SSM posts. Threads were locked, people were permabanned, and guess what, they still put it in the game. Same thing will happen with the app.

Trolling is also bad...and that is exactly what your doing.
the OP is asking for an opinion poll...not for a feature change or discussion of a feature.

And for the record....the subject matter is irrelevant as in-game gender is a moot point as anyone can marry anyone as they see fit to do so. (In the matter of "SSM")

Sorry, not trying to troll. Did you check out the threads I linked? Seemingly any thread that came up about marriage devolved into religious squabbling. I hope it wont happen here though. Just trying to warn the OP what they might be in for.

there are too many subgroups to make a poll accurate. Some do it with rl partners, some with online partners/lovers, some do it because it's the cheapest way to get a twoseater mount, some do so to make playing with a friend easier, some just like the experience. So everyone would be comign at this from pretty disparate starting points, and you couldn't really draw trends from it.

I think you get people responding to the poll that would never sign up for matchmaking.
For example I would EB someone in game for fun and stuff but it would need to be someone I have gotten to know and who I wanted to do stuff with in game but also who would not see it as any kind of irl romantic relationship.
I don't really roleplay - i do more what I call roleplay 'light' where I do act in game as I think my character would react as opposed to how I would react irl but its usually close but not the same.

So from that context it really doesn't matter what gender either the player or character is.

Going to have to echo the opinion that the survey is too...simple? Both Chandra and Riyah brought up the importance of intent behind the EB ceremony, and that is going to skew the results.

Like right now the dominant answer for both surveys is "I don't care," (as of writing this). However I also enjoy reading the Marriage Partner thread (always satisfying to see folks find their partners!), and I have to admit that what I've seen in that mega thread does not really correlate to the answers I'm seeing right now. A large portion of the folks in that thread are looking for something real, and therefore gender does matter to them. And that thread has posts from a lot of users that don't seem to interact with the rest of the forum (at least not general discussion) much at all.

That being said, still very interesting to look into.

As for me I'm not really interested in the ceremony, but I'm also not really into weddings irl either. However if I were to EB my answer definitely changes because of why. If I'm EB-ing with a friend or offering to EB with someone so they can get the items then no, gender doesn't matter. However if I were to get lucky and find someone that I honestly liked and thought the ceremony would be a cute memory for us? Then I would absolutely care about the partner's irl gender, as I imagine they would care about mine at that stage. So in that case I said: "yes, I would prefer a male," but I could honestly say either yes or no depending on the situation.
