Return of the Bull quest issues

Has anyone else had trouble with this? When Lakshmi releases 4 orbs (the first time) I’m ok I can dispel them. After that I can’t seem to get to them fast enough, even with sprint. I’m so frustrated with this quest because if one person gets enthralled, you automatically fail the duty. Everything else is locked behind this. I’ve tried it with SMN and SCH. It’s visually intensive and as a result I seem to only get 18 fps. If I’m in town I get 30 or so and I’m fine with that. As an added note I’m i310 on my sch and 293 on my SMN

I’m on the Aether data center in the Coeurl world. I’m wondering if I’d have better luck on primal. I’ve only gotten to 70 and gotten to 4.1 once and it took quite some time. I really don’t want to start over but I’m wondering if I should by moving back to Primal.

The other con to this is I won’t be in the same FC anymore and I’ve made so many friends :’(

I put in a ticket and a bug report to SE hoping for some help but I doubt I’ll get any. Still I thought I’d try.

Be on lookout for situations where multiple orbs are close together so you can clear them all in a single use of the skill. Also pay attention to where Arenvald is going so you don't waste your time trying to clear the orbs he's about to clear.

Yeah, Arvenald can pretty much be trusted to get the orbs near him(be sure to watch in case he misses one, but hes mostly fine) so you only need to worry about the other 1/2-2/3 of the field. Couple more things. The move you use to clear the orbs is an aoe, so you can still get them from behind if youre close enough(and if i remember right you can use it while moving, so you dont need to stop either). If triggering the duty action on the fly is giving you trouble you can assign it to your hotbar. And finally, you dont really need to be worrying about damage in the first phase of the fight. Put the orbs above everything else. Youll know when youve made it to the part of the fight where damage matters. If the framerate issue is really bad, consider turning down spell effects or some other graphical settings just for this fight(unless im mistaken, the aether and primal data centers are in more or less the same place so that shouldnt make a difference). And of course, if youre really getting frustrated a short break can be beneficial. You say "everything else is locked behind this", but unless im mistaken the only content currently behind that is one dungeon, one trial, and the most recent patches story content(and i guess one custom delivery client). So if you havent already done them, you should currently have access to 3 optional dungeons, the first 2 tiers of the Omega raid line(8 stages), and the first alliance raid of level 70. Hope this helps.

Staying somewhat close to where the orbs spawns also helps you be able to get multiple orbs at once. Try to position yourself in between the two orbs, the actions range is fair sized, and can usually hit both, or more if they are close.

Are you on PS4? The default "activate duty action" button combination is very awkward. Temporarily setting it to a hotbar helps - look in the Actions & Traits menu, under General I think.

It's still tricky, but that does help. Good luck!

Personally, I don't find the default way of activating it awkward, but I could see how it could be for others(could have to do with how flexible your fingers are/size of hands - will differ from person to person).
Though, I do recommend the setting to hot bar if someone does find the default difficult(I only noticed that option a couple weeks ago while playing with my hot bars). Mostly so they can put it somewhere that they will actively be able to see/quickly get to.

Update: I actually was able to get through it. I felt frustrated as I’d fail on purpose but I kept reminding myself it’s so I knew where to stand to get the most orbs as possible. I also turned down some graphics and my fps has been in the 40s I finished SB and post SB, got all my aether currents and now I have so much I’m trying to get done it’s hard some of the gathering is such a slog but I’m pushing through it. Now I’m going to follow the job guides I’ve seen that say like level CUL to 15 and stuff and try to go in order

Just to point out for future reference, you wouldn't see a difference from aether to primal. Just wanted to say that in case u go transferring or lvling up from scratch.
