That virtual currency is the issue to look out for as it may translate into some terrible P2W services like power ups and what not in the future...but the app is meh lol I didn’t even pay it any attention.

Not another thread just add to existing ones your points of view have already been covered several times.... Besides it helps your cause to add to existing ones...and like any other thread quitting do to OPTIONAL services ...good riddance.

I don't even really want metallic dye colors, but it's clear they're expanding the types of items they're willing to charge people extra for, and it's only been two patches.

It's not a good thing, and it's making me wonder if it's worth sticking around just biding my time for the straw that breaks the camel's back.

I wonder what this person would say to 7 paid retainers, app sub, locking an 8th retainer for a total of 36 dollars a month

Yoshida said for a very long time that he had planned for this sort of cash shop model to come along, and he said "no pay to win". I guess that's as close to a response as you're going to get on the matter.

Stop whining. You don't need more than two retainers. You don't need the app. Acting like having tons of retainers and a free smartphone app that lets you manage your character while offline is the bog standard for mmos is absurd.

Well he do have a point. A app isnt going to make you do anything, yet alone unsub. OP choose to unsub (supposedly).

Why should SE expand our inventory slots, when its clear as day that people are willing to pay for them. Additional retainers are doing so well they locked the 9th one behind a paywall just to see if people would go for that. Guess what people in Japan cant wait for this app to come out so they can drop 5$ a month on it.

It is a slippery slope. What if the kupo nuts or the other currency from the premium only grants exclusive mounts, hairstyles, emotes and clothing in the future? But its ok because all of that is optional through the app.
If that happens will it still be ok because its optional and doesnt affect combat gameplay?

The app does not make me want to unsubscribe. However it does make me very cautious in the next year and my continuation to support the game through my sub.
