In general, the lack of looking into the tool tips, AoE usage when appropriate, and paying attention to what's happening during the fights does seem to have gotten out of hand in recent months. Actually had two wipes in World of Darkness.

I was in a WoD wipeable party. we wiped on the last boss, but two alliances had a hard time staying alive. My alliance was mostly my FC mates. The issue is some people go into WoD new now, thinking its as face roll as LotA and ST. It's anything but. People need to start speaking up, regardless the content, when theyre new. Also for veterans, WoD is not completely cheeseable. Mechanics in there tend to not be optional. (which is still why i enjoy that raid so much)

I think it's partly not knowing and partly the fact that so much content is done unsynced or vastly overgeared it lulls people into thinking all mechanics can be facerolled...

Which is why, even when I know I can survive ignoring all mechanics, I still do them(unless I'm on DRK and using TBN to fill my gauge, but that's something that I prepare for myself by testing the healers before it gets to parts where I will do that). The majority of people just expect everyone else to adjust and do everything for them.

I have a fun Levi normal story too...at least I think it was Levi (correct me if I'm wrong).

So it's my first time tanking it as DRK and I go for the head. Everything is smooth, party is really nice but near the end, I get it by the AOE that inflicts the fear status on you, which makes you run everywere.
The funny thing is, is that my character was always coming back to that AOE, thus I couldn't get out of that vicious cycles.

But the best part is that the other tank got the same problem.

"Well this is awkward" I say. Hilarity ensues and everyone leaves with a good laugh. Wish I could have recorded that.

EDIT : BTW I know it's been a few days and water has gone under the bridge but I would like to apologize for that Syrcus tower post. I was not in the best mindset to write and I violated some forum rules. I'll be more careful next time

The levi story reminds me of this WT run I did in Levi x... down to the end of the fight everyone is dead except for the DRK... that caster spawn pops up and the DRK ignores the add... gets hit with hysteria and runs right for the edge... just before they walk off hysteria wears off and the DRK uses plunge to leap over the hysteria puddle to the other side of the platform and finishes of leviathan... best Levi save ever

When you enter the duty, & the first words out of the tank's mouth are to the healer 'I think I remember you. Didn't we vote kick you once?'

Then you go along, & realize the issue isn't 'uh oh, bad healer', but 'uh oh, jerk tank'.

"Dude, if you could NOT stand in every pollen cluster, that'd be great." Um - they spawn ON me and insta-explode. I'm supposed to tap into my psychic powers & move before they blink into existence or something? o_0

I generally find.. Brayflox to be the first point of catastrophic failure as a healer.... Tanks that never bothered to learn how to mitigate yet somehow think it's a good idea to multimob pull. Tanks that never ever bothered to pick up thier job and therefore thier much needed tanking stance DPS that are still single targeting the mobs Mages and Summoners Your AoE Happens much sooner than 32-34, Healers that never bother to Esuna( theres a reason it exists take it.) ,Healers that don't know how to handle DPSing and Healing (Seriously if the tanks already burned through thier mitigation you should probably drop some healing on them at that point,Healers that Pull ahead of the tank... the list goes on. but so very tired going to nap..

Welp, that was a first. Our group very nearly failed the cannon step of Livia because: one dps spent the entire fight uselessly hitting the boss instead of killing adds, whoever happened to have aggro on her either kept running her around the whole arena or stood her right on top of one set of cannons out of their range of attack instead of keeping her stood in the middle of the arena, and barely anyone bothered to kill the adds before they attacked the loaders and cannons. We lost one loader entirely and came very close to losing the other one. And after that circus show was miraculously and finally won, someone actually said "we were fine." No. We were not.

And the final kick in the teeth? I only ended up with 1/2 a level worth of xp out of the whole thing. No more MSQ roulette for this manqo'te. I said that several months ago, but thought I'd try out this so-called new and improved xp reward from the forced cutscenes. Totally not worth it.

Yeah, I have come to a similar conclusion since I have ended up as a replacement tank for Brayflox about a half-dozen times in the last few days.

To be fair, Brayflox has *always* been the first reality check on FFXIV. Scholars in general used to have some issues since we didn't have Leeches for a dungeon that badly needed it.
