The virtual currency "Moogle Coins" in the FFXIV Companion app must be removed

For all we know you gain access to these coins in game. Even if someone wants to buy these for real cash... it's not too going to have a huge impact in the marketboard.

People are so stupidly quick to undercut each other and repost sales that paying moogle coins to relist an item will only be efficient if you are dealing with a very expensive and rare item.

They said it is a premium currency, meaning you pay IRL money for it, don't you know how apps work? Even if you can earn it some how it will never be near enough to encourage you buy them.

FFXIV's MB is set up to have that abused just by how it works, if this was RS or wow or something, i would give it a chance, but FFXIV's MB is really open to abuse. I do not like the act at all for allowing price changes/ putting stuff up from an app to begin with, but to have a IRL transaction to allow you to do that on top of it? SE can prob make 100+ dollars a day from one person just from undercut spam.

Undercutting by 20k+ even millions at times is what is stupid, making sure your the top listing though is pretty much a requirement.

I do not like the act at all for allowing price changes/ putting stuff up from an app to begin with, but to have a IRL transaction to allow you to do that on top of it? SE can prob make 100+ dollars a day from one person just from undercut spam.

If someone wants to waste 100+ dollars doing this with the app while their competition is in-game doing it at no extra charge... "a fool and their money are soon parted."

This. So much. Nothing the app is going to provide (aside from saddle storage and a retainer) is something a person sitting on a computer can't already do. And FFXIV is pretty easy to launch remotely. I personally use remote desktop because it'll launch in DX9 mode. There's also rainway, parsec, and probably a bunch of other supported tools to stream a game. To a phone even! Granted, the official app might make this easier, but with the undercutter rates on balmung, I'm not exactly making much profit to start. Items under 10k drop in half daily.

They've already stated more will be added to it, so where do we draw the line? Where do we say no to them? Do we wait until it is too late and the line has been crossed so far there is absolutely no turning back? Or do we let them know now that this is unacceptable and nothing else should ever be tied to a micro transaction for the game? Personally I think we should push back now to prevent them from thinking we're totally okay with more stuff being tied to pay walls and micro transactions.

100% I bet they are talking about including mundane actions like watering your plants, activating your Adventure Squad or feeding your Chocobo.

What service in FFXIV do you think the coins can be used for in pay to win? Do you think they will jump to something like "for 10,000 coins buy this ilvl 500 set!"

They might not be particularly fast at it, but classes are constantly being balanced and it's really only a player-made issue to exclude one. We've yet to see any type of status buff end up in the Mod Station, where we all know it'd happen first.

If more ressources & efforts were spent on actual game content & gameplay (in game*) You/we could/would have a better game.

Yes and then its suddenly profitable for SE and we get more and more features like that and suddenly it might not be that fine anymore for more people. They already said that they are planning more features for these coins..who knows what we will get. So anyone paying money for those coins will just give them more reasons to increase that.
