The reason I stay subbed....

I stay subbed because I want to feel the thrills of combat. I want to help others when I can. I want to decorate my houses. I want to talk to others whether it's in-game chat, discord, forums, etc.

If I didn't like the gameplay or how FFXIV, I would have unsubbed long time ago. In fact, I wouldn't even play FFXIV today.

As far as the app goes, IDC. I have enough gil, items, a house, and friends to be satisfied. I am the type that believe that a little goes a long way. Helping others, saving up, and living within my means are key to maintain satisfaction with what I have earned.

I mean, if people want to go OCD with their "undercut by 1 gil" shenanigans every minute through reading the app, it really doesn't affect me much. Also, it is up to the buyers of the MB products on whether or not to entertain these people with purchases.

Honestly, even if they don't do anything but add more convenience, even if it isn't "p2w" we're still being nickel and dimed on a service we pay for with the expectation that we're getting the full package. It's part of why I don't really bother with modern console games because of the prevalence of DLC and the notion that you can sell someone half a game then make them buy the other half later, intentionally releasing half finished products to double dip on people's wallets. QoL features should never be linked to an outside microtransaction system in a game we buy and pay a subscription for. What other future QoL features will be locked behind a paywall? Where do you draw the line? Because if you don't draw a line limits will be pushed far beyond what you expect or want.

How can someone be this blind? It is not a small thing, this is how EA and the like started out too. Do you know where EA ended up? or the likes of phone games? government is having to step in, Some countries are threatening to putting embgros on some games (in fact it is "if you do not do this, you will not be allowed to sell x game in our country"), I do not find that small.

It is more out of spite of concpt, "I refuse to support cash grabby so I unsub, you are here to rip us off more then trying to add 'convenience" You are the exact target group for these shady practices, those that can't think for themselves, those that do not know how to value a dollar.

It is the concept on where the gaming industry is heading, charging extra for stuff that should be in the game, save files, UI features, etc. You are paying extra, we are paying extra as a user base because SE rushed 2.0 out, the same mistake why 1.0 failed. Gaming companies want to try rush out half finished games and concepts so they can charge us later for. This is exactly why I made this:

You are being passive aggressive and you know it, acting like your not does not change the fact. If you legit can't see what this app is and really not trolling, I feel sorry for you. That kind of thing lets you be easily manipulated.

Not by yourself of course, but you're an example of it. You're happy to pay and pay and pay just because SE dangles something in front of you regardless of the fact that you're already paying for this. You're what's known as a "whale" in free-to-play markets. And that's fine, but own it. You're paying for a subscription game and then happily shelling out extra cash on top of that. The entire point of the subscription model is that you get the whole package for your subscription.

I don't dislike free-to-play games. I'm actually having a lot of fun right now with Tree of Savior. But it's not trying to be both at the same time.

To add to what Callinon said, we're not only going through with the subscription model, we're also purchasing every expansion for what is essentially the price of a new game. Additional subscriptions and fees and schemes does become overwhelming to anyone with an active budget.
I've not unsubbed yet, not for this. But it is starting to feel like we're getting ready to go from FFXIV: Stormblood, to FFXIV: Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, and it's ok for players, potential, lost, or otherwise, to not like it.
