It's rare that I post here anymore...but oh my god, this last run on Doma took 40 minutes. Where do I begin? I'm queued as a Monk, another MNK, a WAR, and a SCH. First standard pull which is the wall to wall, and the tank just dies. I dunno what the SCH was doing, wasn't paying attention to them, but there are so many adds that I decide to just let them kill me. But the SCH keeps on healing me, which doesn't help, so I have to wait an additional few seconds before I finally die. The other MNK is still valiantly fighting, but for whatever reason, as myself, the SCH, and the WAR rez at the starting point, they start kiting the mobs all the way back to the starting area.

It becomes a circle of reset and die. I just finally had enough and told folks to just let the mobs reset so we can start over.

Soon as I say that, the SCH quits. A WHM queues in and I breathe a sigh of relief. They wonder what happened, and I told them that the healer rage quit and probably couldn't keep up with the first wall to wall pull. No sooner do I say this, I realize that both the WAR and MNK have taken off to go after the adds - without protect. So that was another reset. WHM is immediately irritated with the WAR and quits the instance too.

At this point, I'm ready to just quit. A SCH queues in, and we finally get a proper run together. I have to admit, I nearly almost ate the penalty. The tank had this weird habit of going AFK for no more than 30 seconds at a time up to the second set of cannons you come across on the way to the 2nd boss. The adds were dying painfully slow (I was spent on TP every set of mobs, even using Purification with literally every single mob). 2nd boss, it became obvious that the tank was either AFK'ing, didn't know what to do, or just didn't care. Didn't really try to move the 2nd boss away from the huge lasers. The monk ran away from me and the SCH when they got a stack marker. Didn't try to touch any of the towers, so myself and the SCH ended up dealing with every single tower.

Then the next set of mobs with the ninjas. Again, I used up all of my TP trying to kill them. I happened to look at the party list and noticed that the MNK was almost at full TP. They weren't using AOEs. So I asked them if they knew their AOE rotation. They said maybe. Now at this point, I'm irritated, I'm tired of being in this dungeon, I just want to get my level 68 and move on. So I grit my teeth.

At the final boss, the MNK is still in the cutscene when the WAR just charges right in and aggros the boss. So I just stood there outside of the arena. I didn't even care anymore. Told them a DPS was in the cutscene. ...I have a new appreciation for the folks on discord who I have been running with. Holy hell.

EDIT: Why is there this ridiculous 1000 mark limit on this forum? It's not like 2000 symbols is too long of a message on a forum.

It's because the forum is coded for Japanese symbols, not English letters. It's a frequent complaint. At least there is a workaround.

I'm gonna call every NIN Nina from now on. Poor Nina but kind of a fun misunderstanding.

I have a fun Levi normal story too...at least I think it was Levi (correct me if I'm wrong).

So it's my first time tanking it as DRK and I go for the head. Everything is smooth, party is really nice but near the end, I get it by the AOE that inflicts the fear status on you, which makes you run everywere.
The funny thing is, is that my character was always coming back to that AOE, thus I couldn't get out of that vicious cycles.

But the best part is that the other tank got the same problem.

"Well this is awkward" I say. Hilarity ensues and everyone leaves with a good laugh. Wish I could have recorded that.

EDIT : BTW I know it's been a few days and water has gone under the bridge but I would like to apologize for that Syrcus tower post. I was not in the best mindset to write and I violated some forum rules. I'll be more careful next time

This is what a tank bot looks like (Dzemael Darkhold edition).

You'll find them doing any, or all, of the following:

- Ignoring telegraphed AoEs

- Ignoring simple mechanics
My Tank Bot attacked the final boss when he was invincible.
My Tank Bot did not pull the first boss into the light so he could be attacked.

- Doing simple mechanics despite looming threat of death
My Tank Bot sat in the magic locks while holding 3+ pulls of enemies.

- Not using cooldowns

- Not using tank stance

- Not responding to multiple, Auto-Translated requests for [Unleash/Flash/Overpower] or [tank stance]

- Only using cooldowns in a very specific, robotic fashion
My Tank Bot popped all cooldowns at once and THEN engaged every boss. See picture.

You'll find tank bots in ARR dungeons in out-of-date gear, probably running for gil. Don't let tank bots ruin your run. Ask your doctor today if [Report cheating] is right for you.

No, but seriously. If you're going to bot, don't drag other people into it. This was the worst run I've had in a long time.

I did not. I'd queued in through mentor roulette, and they'd already been waiting for a healer for about 20 (?) minutes. Waiting for a tank would've taken even longer so I just tried to get it over with.

We had one of these in Tam Tara normal the other day. Mentor tried to get the guy to flash, no response, ignored all AOE telegraph, etc. Kicked shortly there after.

Dun Scaith for Alliance roulette featuring:

Very first Doom in Deathgaze. I use Paeon to cleanse one person, what about the other? Nothing. Healers both too busy casting Stone III. Doom goes down to about 5s left so i say in chat "cleanse doom" and nothing.

Deathgaze covers 7 out of 8 parts on the platform. Trash is relatively ok. Ferdiad goes mostly well. Wipe at Scathatch before she even gets to add phase. Connia did drop, I marked her as 1, and... nothing. The phrases in chat of "if you get tethered to hand stare at it", etc are repeated multiple times before the 1st fight, after wipe, during the 2nd try where we nearly wiped again.

Proto ultima fine... and Diabolos Hollow we at least didn't wipe on but again in alliance chat mechanics are explained for the newbies - stack and look away, kill door adds immediately, point earthshakers AWAY from the party..

We were at the 40 minute mark already when we finished Scathatch. The whole run took almost an hour. At least I got a bonus for my WT.....

They can. I once had one in Toto-Rak, back when I first started playing that did pretty much the same. It got so bad that I had to summon Topaz Carbuncle to tank because the bot was constantly pathing back to bosses and through mobs using only one ability. No response when talked at, moved in straight lines and in a very set pattern, didn't even use the teleport feature after we wiped to the final boss due to it's poor programming. We didn't want to eat the penalty to get a new tank and half the time he was running into mobs so fast we couldn't kick him, and even restarted the boss fight at least once by just straight running down the hallway to the final boss and into the chamber - again with clear pathing that no player would take. Topaz Carbuncle held it's own however and we eventually cleared the instance - with the bot running against the lock out wall after being rezzed and running all the way back after it bit it due to poison.

Mind, I think it depends on the programming the botter is using however. Not every bot scripting program is advanced enough to actually do semi-decently.
