Took Japanese language courses in the university for 4 years and done few projects in regard to Japanese social life as well.
I have the ability to read and write at Japanese forum and do reads Japanese 2ch and 4ch.
Take it as grain of salt if you have to, i seriously don't care.
The only thing for sure is I have better understanding in the matter and understand why they loved premium serivce.
Use google to search Kantai Collection and Fate app and you should realize they loved loot box instead of hate it like Western players

With the Digest now released I just wanted to voice concern out again for this. Not a single word outside of the slide explaining anymore details about the kupo coin. All the other threads can seem to talk about is the $5 premium version, which imho isn't even worth considering since it gives you almost nothing. I really do hope SE reconsiders the Kupo Coin as micro transactions like this are unacceptable, especially since they already have plans to put more stuff than just the MB functions behind it.

I said this in another thread but it's worth repeating here, I feel. As of tomorrow it will have been exactly a week since the initial announcement. Many people have expressed concerns and this thread has gathered over two hundred 'likes'. That there has not been an official response yet is rather troubling.

The cynical part of me believes it is intentional. I remember how long it took to get information about the European promotional campaigns even though many people were screwed over by them - and even then, a lot of it ended up being conflicting information. Soem countries who were set to get a campaign did not even get one in the end. So it's hard not to believe that there's an element of letting negative feedback fizzle out...it may be unintentional but that is how it feels.

Looks like they confirmed that the premium version just unlocks the ability to rent an additional retainer from the mogstation.

It is amazing on how people over exaggerate on something exist long before micro-transaction and loot box exist.
Retainer is just a better version of mule from FF11 that most of players get them for inventory spaces and gardening.

Its understandable for people to react with posts like these.

FFXIV is arguably the only good MMORPG left, especially for huge fans of the FF series. It would be a very sad day to see it turn into another soulless cash grabbing MMO like Black Desert. I don't believe that will happen, but I understand the fear when looking at the progression of jump potions, story skips, expanding cash shop, and this app that I've never heard about until just now.

I'm fine with everything that's currently in place, but its easy to see why people are worried about the future.

Tbh I'm not fine with the double sized saddlebag given with the premium app, since they could've made it something that could've been expanded in-game, like bags on wow, that said I don't consider it a P2W option since their effect is not overwhelming on content.
To give some context, supreme cards on mobius are P2W because they are OP as hell and the only way to get them is by spamming 6 cards summons, since other cards can be bought from the shop eventually while supreme can't and their effect on rankings and combat is absurd ( I got FF2 minwu supreme card from free summoning during the anniversary and it essentially trivialized the game for me)

That said it's still something I don't like and I won't support

It is because you didn't take in to account of the culture difference.

This is why I think Japanese games have some of the worst net code. Because they're designed for tightly packed cities and not worldwide playerbases.

They aren't going to change anything. This isn't the kind of thing you walk back on. At best they heard the worries about the scope of it increasing into pay to win territory, but once things hit the live letter stage, they are gold for in game.
