I’m selfish because I am self sufficient? That’s hilarious. Why don’t you actually contribute to the thread instead of having it potentially derailed because you’d rather insult people than actually lodge a legitimate complaint.

And even if they implemented it you could still be self-sufficient. Gather your own mats, craft your stuff from said mats, do everything on your own. Boom, you're self-sufficient. Even if prices drop it wouldn't stop you being self-sufficient. Even though I'm on the fence about this, I'd probably still find a way to be self-sufficient if they added this. Since you're gathering all mats and doing all crafts yourself, and getting all your own maps, etc, what will stop you remaining that way if this was implemented?

Note that I am neither for nor against this, I'm just trying to rack your brains about this.

Self-sufficiency doesn't negate P2W so I don't get why it's being brought up.

I used to play a game where all players were technically able to get everything. Cash shop items could be acquired from events (or by buying from cash players).
However to do so the free way could takes months-years for an upgrade, whereas the cash players would be able to do it as soon as their wallets allowed (within hours).

Now of course what we're seeing here is NOWHERE near that bad. But the point is that just because a player can indeed earn that gil, doesn't change that it'll be faster for a person under the same circumstances (same playtime, same types of items to sell, etc..) to get the gil they want.
